5 Ways that can save a mom’s day when nothing goes her way

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

Parenting is a versatile journey and indeed very precious and very beautiful for every mother in her very own special way. It’s a feeling, all the words of the universe put together would fail me to express. It indeed is divine and extremely enriching. I have never been a perfect mommy albeit a good one, good in the sense that I have learned to learn from my mistakes as a mother and not to repeat them. I have also in some of my posts on the healing power of positivity and the balancing act encapsulated my learning’s and shared it with all of you earlier but the fact is no one can ever fathom all the deep secrets of motherhood..

Though mothers are believed to be epitomes of strength and patience and they are so for most days but this may not be true always as we too are human beings. Actually, every mum has her weaknesses and her weak days. Days when she feels a staunch pain in her heart for doing a particular thing that way and not doing it an alternate way. The irony is though we believe that moms are the strongest, their hearts are also the most fragile. So some days when nothing goes our way we freak out.

Now, since I am a meticulous planner, I have formulated 5 principles for myself to tackle and come out of these situations and now I have trained my mind to work on them, to a great extent. Today, I decided to calibrate my thoughts with all you gorgeous mums as well.

  1. Sometimes just let it be, you can’t control everything that is happening in the world: All’s going well in the family and suddenly you contract viral fever and you pass it in to your little ones who struggle under it because they are small and we start cursing ourselves, getting irritated and unfortunately the little ones bear the brunt again. This happens right? So what should we do? We should rather train our mind not to let negativity engulf us and take it easy please. This is life and we are not Gods, so let’s work to maintain the peace and happiness of our family which begins from us.

  1. Smile and spend time with yourself: If you love nature walking or nature photography or have any other favorite pass time please indulge and smile when you spend time with yourself, you will not only feel rejuvenated but also the happiness hormones will be secreted in your body ridding you of all the guilts. I try to do this as often as possible despite having a hectic schedule 5 days a week I let Mother Nature work her wonders on me. I also keep writing positive notes to self while I do all this.

  1. Music is a healer of the soul: If you are an ardent music lover like me, there is no therapy like plugging in your favorite music and singing out loud with it. Ah! What great peace and satiation it brings to the soul. Also, if you like to shake a leg on it, do your most random and funny steps like no-one’s watching and have fun (it also will act as a workout for the smart momma in you). Some days when I feel down and out I do a karaoke of old soulful melodies and sing to my heart’s content and soon the two boys also join the fun. Doing all this makes me a baby and helps me unnerving and also bring some joy to my family. Technology is a boon sometimes, isn’t it? Try this and you would love it, we don’t need to be a singer for it😛.

  1. Self Dates: This is another weird sounding thing I do. There are some days when we moms experience a void whether we are working or are a SAHM. I call it the void of inspiration. It inspires me to take the leap of faith to better myself. But when I am experiencing this void I sulk, so I plan a date with myself to have my favorite chocolate shake at my favorite mall and I indulge shamelessly with a large grin. I pack the boys to work and school and hire a cab to my this place where I treat myself and heal myself by scribbling on a piece of paper my feelings and the way forward. Since I am my own best friend this venting is therapeutic and makes me the chirpy smiling Roma again. Trust me self-dates can work wonders for us.You may also have a date with your spouse or your child incase any of them are free.

  1. Divert Your Mind and keep the right company: Mind is the most powerful beast to tap and a flood of negativity can wipe off years of positive mentoring. Many times, the negativity can come from your near and dear ones and can take your mental equilibrium for a toss. That is why it is said that you are the company you keep. So make a conscious effort to have positive and supportive friends who can understand your times of turmoil and help you divert your mind away from angst. I have this understanding with my bestie, whenever we feel we need each other, we ping - “Ice Cream Date?”, to the other and within moments the other reaches out to support even if it's just over a phone. Such codes are fun and needed. Be independent but have at least a couple of dependable friends.

Trust me there are days when nothing seems to go our way and clouds of despair and spreading their vicious clutches all around us, those are the days use any of the tips above to save your days, my loves, this is a straight from the heart, #Momology Gyaan from one mom to another. If it doesn’t work I am right here, ping me and I will love to take you through.

Top 5 Sensitive Baby Wipes of 2019

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

With every passing day, my belief that motherhood is no cakewalk grows stauncher. Trust me when I say this because today while on one side we are blessed to have such accentuated technological advancements that the wide gametes of products that flood the market have aided moms perfectly, on the other hand so much choice in the product range baffles us.

Almost all brands claim to be best for our precious little angels and as moms, we undoubtedly crave for nothing short of the best for them. For example, when it becomes a matter of hygiene and extreme care for the skin of our little munchkin we become double precautious of our choice. Well, we mommies too have now gained the smartness to figure out the best for our mini ME’s. Like when it comes to choosing the best baby wipes we have amply researched the constituents and know what is ideal for our babies.

Below we present to you a list of 5 Best Sensitive Baby Wipes for the year 2019:

1.Mother Sparsh Unscented Baby Wipes: These are my top favorites as they are as good as cotton dabbed in pure water. Made of plant-based fiber and Aloe Vera they do not harm Mother Nature at all and are 100% biodegradable. Such a relief to a mother that she is not harming another mother. #MotherSparshWipes are alcohol and Parabens free and do not contain any other harmful chemical at all. Hypoallergenic in nature they are #extragentlewipes which are safest for the most sensitive skin types too. Just have a pack in your bag and your worries to clean their bums, hands, face or even their toys which they keep putting in the mouth is all sorted like forever. The latest version of these #Waterbasedwipes are  #Extrathickwipes for deeper cleaning. You can buy them here.

2.Pampers Sensitive Baby Wipes: Specially designed keeping a little one’s skin needs in mind, these wipes help maintain skin’s natural ph balance thus keeping the precious little’s sensitive skin safe. These wipes are made from carefully selected and evaluated materials and are clinically proven gentle for the tender skin of newborns, thus are extremely safe for your bundle of joys.

3.Baby Dove - Baby Wipes: These are gentle and non-irritating Wipes which gently remove all the impurities and also instantly moisturize the baby skin. Their chemical-free formula is based on the fact that baby’s skin loses moisture five times faster than an adult human being thus they aid in replenishing the same. So they are good for both at home usage or use during travel.

    4. Pigeon Baby Wipes: These baby wipes are enriched with the goodness of chamomile and rosehip and it is free from 5 kinds of bacteria which can harm babies skin. They don’t possess any artificial perfumes and are alcohol-free too. You can use these wipes safely every day without a worry.

    5. Himalaya Gentle Baby Wipes: These are another well-known baby wipes which are infused with aloe-vera and Indian Lotus extra. It is very mild and soothing for a baby’s tender skin. Their herbal range is specially formulated to ensure the health of our baby’s skin.

Of all of the above, the #FirstWaterWipes of India from Mother Sparsh are my personal favorite, I have tested them every possible way and they have satiated me to my heart’s content.

Introducing to you a unique Conversational Platform-IRA

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

Dear esteemed readers of Truly Your Roma, this is a very special post for a very special cause. Request you to help us spread the word and let the awareness reach the needy.

Did you know there are 2.01 million people still in India who live with HIV, or that there are about 80,000 people who get infected every year? Not to mention the overall stigma & prejudice associated with the condition which marginalizes the infected and the lack of information that perpetuates all of these.  Bad news, indeed.

Good news, however, is that HIV is preventable, manageable and a lot of it is just to do with providing people the right information with sensitivity and tact at the right time!

Thus taking a step in the right direction, I am so proud introducing IRA to you.
IRA is a conversational platform where people can seek answers to their pressing HIV/AIDS queries. She was created to help people gain information about HIV and motivate people to manage HIV responsibly. She is friendly and chatty and wants the world to be free of HIV.

IRA will be available on the yes4me website. Anyone with an internet connection can access IRA which makes her a powerful ally in the fight against HIV. Because of the stigma surrounding HIV, people can visit IRA from the security of their own home and seek answers to urgent questions without facing any of the discrimination that they would face anywhere else.

With IRA by their side, millions of Indians will be able to find the right information at the right time and thus solve the root cause that perpetuates HIV.

Let’s join hands to make India HIV/AIDS-free. You can reach IRA for all your questions from the link below.

We would love to hear back from you as your feedback makes IRA better!

My Version of Valentine’s ❤️

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers Featured post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

I love the concept of Valentine’s because in general, I love the concept of love. To love everyone and accept them with open arms is what makes me, me. I rejoice in this month of love and treat it special every year though personally, I would like every month of the year to be the month of love and every day a Valentine’s Day ❤️

No, this is not a sponsored post nor am I doing a favor to those promoting their business in the name of love on Valentine’s. Many write it off, considering it a marketing gimmick and I do respect their viewpoint but for once we can think beyond this cliched notion.

I personally love Valentine’s for several beautiful reasons. It makes me celebrate a festival dedicated purely to love, once a year. It makes me and 'S' revisit our love promises, to exchange hugs, kisses, customarily and celebrate all the days of the valentine week in our own lovely ways. We try to steal a date too and just bask in the glory of each other’s unconditional love which is growing profound with each passing year. On Valentine’s Day, we raise a toast to it 💞.

My little Valentine absorbs this warmth and love too and learns how we can really cherish true love and express our gratitude for the same. We celebrated each day of our Valentine Week with our child too who comes and tells me that on Promise Day, for example, he wishes to promise me to give up something that has annoyed me for eons and it all turns so lovely 💓.

Cute little celebrations like this break the monotony of routine life any aid us weave sweet memories each day. It energizes and rejuvenated us and frees us from the shackles of exhaustive parenting and wifeyhood which leaves very less room for our own smiles💗.

So for me, Valentine’s doesn’t mean expensive gifting or a premium dinner date but just giving out immense love to your loved ones, all of them including your family and friends and rejoice in this celebration of love. Be grateful to Almighty that you are blessed with their love.

Sending your way loads and loads of love this Valentine's , my precious ones!

P.S. I have deviated slightly from the prompt but I so wished to share this #Momology Talisman which is all about pure pristine love and hence this post. Trust you all like it. It is my most powerful way of energising when mommyhood becomes monotonous 💖

This post is a part of #Momology blog train hosted by Thoughtsby Geethica, SlimexpectationsMummasaurus and Truly Yours Roma(me) sponsored by FirstCry Intellikit, Instacuppa, Diet Funda, Hugs n tugs, Tina Basu, Unorthodoxpeeps, Lotus Herbals baby and Shumee toys.

Loads and loads of Prizes to be won. I trust you are enjoying it as much as we are.

Why you must watch Kunal Khemu's debut web series Abhay?

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

Change is the only consistent thing in life. Times have changed, and so have we. Right from our looks to our very own preferences have changed in the last couple of years. This also stands true to how we view our content. Back in the days, we used to watch it on TV, but now with the arrival of the Internet, we can finally watch, any show, anywhere. To please the diverse tastes of audiences, online streaming services are constantly making top-notch content that is binge-worthy.

Though there are a good number of web series being made in India, there are hardly some that touch the genre of police procedural thrillers, which if you ask me is quite honestly confined to movies. But that did not stop ZEE5 from venturing into the untouched genre with their original series ‘Abhay’ featuring Kunal Khemu.

Shot extensively in Lucknow, the buzz around Abhay has many things working in his favour, making it a highly promising show. Taking a glimpse into all that buzz, let’s find out why Kunal Khemu’s debut web series Abhay deserves a watch.

The format of the story: As we mentioned above, the series follows a police procedural or inverted detective format where the criminal’s identity is revealed and the episode follows the chase to nab the criminal. While there have been many popular international shows in the genre like Luther, Elementary etc, Abhay is the Indian web series to venture into this genre.

The Creators: The series is being produced by BP Singh’s Fiction Factory Productions. B.P Singh is well-known as the creator and producer of the famous TV show ‘CID’. On the director’s chair is Ken Ghosh who is known for movies like Ishq Vishk, Fida, Chance Pe Dance and has also ventured into the web space before.

Kunal Khemu: Known for his comedic roles in the Golmaal series, Kunal Khemu sheds his comic image to become an investigator in Abhay. As Abhay Pratap Singh, he is tasked to solve gruesome crimes by trying to understand the criminal mind. Going by the trailer, this method does have a toll on the character as he goes about investigating gruesome crimes. Overall, Abhay seems to possess all the ingredients necessary for a complex protagonist.

You can watch the trailer here:

Delving into a fresh genre with renowned names from the industry, ZEE5’s Abhay gives you all the reasons to get your ZEE5 subscription right away to catch the show online. The eight-episode series premieres on 7th February on ZEE5.

So, are you excited about Abhay? Let me know your thoughts about the show in the comments section.

5 Reasons Every Indian Must Watch The Movie #UriTheSurgicalStrike (This Valentine's express your love to those who slog on the border so that we can be safe with our loved ones)

review of uri, the surgical strike

February is a special month to us. Though our love story is now a rock solid two decades old, somehow we have managed to stay love birds and so you know that the Valentine month stands out of the rest. No no, I am not going to do here a lovey-dovey take on VD rather I wanna talk about our love for everyone and that is how we have always believed it to be. Love is a feeling which remains as fresh as red roses irrespective of time and during this month we celebrate our love for all. The very purpose for which Valentine’s Day is celebrated as a tribute to St. Valentine.

This year too we commenced the Valentine month in style by spending the weekend with lots of fun and frolic and the best thing we did was watch the movie ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’which turned out to be a perfect date. Earnestly, we have been trying for it for the last three weekends but yesterday was the day we were destined to watch this soul-stirring and heartwarming flick which left us overwhelmed as I decided to begin my Valentine Posts Series with the tribute to the most important people of our lives whom we rarely remember - the army men who slog at the borders for our safety. This movie Uri does exactly that to you and here I enumerate the five reasons why you can’t miss this one.

  1. Kept it Real: If you are a real cinema fan, without acute dramatization and wanna hear a beautiful story weaved responsibly and impact-fully you must watch Uri. I loved it for its simplicity and a profound inspirational message.

  1. Appeases our patriotic heart: Most Indians live with their motherlands in their hearts and no matter how much they are able to contribute, they love their country. For every concerned countryman who feels hurt by Pakistan’s constant terrorist attacks and the plight of the affected states, you must watch this to realize what we are capable of. I am one such Indian whose heart yearns to teach them an appropriate lesson and Uri just took my heart away.

  1. Soldiers have responsibilities too back home: Just imagine how life sometimes takes a toll on us and we are unable to cope up despite having support, it is the same for our esteemed army men whose family back home struggles and so do they but still, they put their motherland on priority. Their lives and often martyrdom needs a billion tributes from all of us. The words of the entire universe put together can't justify our heart's gratefulness.

  1. To inspire our children: This generation kids are total gadget geeks and the understanding of love for one’s motherland doesn’t come naturally to them. Watch this inspirational flick with your kids and discuss with them minute tit-bits and you will be instilling in them, exactly what is desired.

  1. They owe our love and gratitude: The least we can do for these courageous souls is to bow our head in reverence to them. The movie grips you with this sentiment with heart-touching performances by Vicky Kaushal, Mansi Parekh, Mohit Raina, and the supporting cast.

Inspired by the real series of incidents, the subject is dealt with appreciably in Uri: The Surgical Strike by the debutante writer-director Aditya Dhar and kudos to him for the realistic weaving of this impressive tale.

Truly Yours Roma rates it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ with a proud heart. Why not make this Valentine special by watching this earnest tribute to our real heroes and express our abundant love to them💗?
