Hello, our beloved rock star!

What is the new thing you are learning these days or what is that one hobby of yours you are most passionate about? This passion of ours to constantly hone our skills and get better at them is what sets us apart from other living beings. Often we complain we don’t have time for it in our busy schedule but better planning, sincerity, and dedication towards our goals can aid us to find a suitable avenue to resolve our complaint.

For us in these #COVID19 pandemic times, for the first time in years our time crunch has resolved and we have a lot of time at hand, never mind even if it is forcibly so, there are certain things which are beyond our control.

But now that we have time, why not may hay while the sun shines, we have a chance to learn what we always wanted to or hone a skill we were good at but lacked professional training. That’s what many of us are ardently doing at the moment. Some have joined online classes for public speaking or vocal training, some are just learning how to play guitar using the YouTube tutorials, some are learning baking while many others are mastering fitness modules. Some of the ex-students of my academy have requested for resuming their zoom sessions. Working with them yet again is making me so happy because your students are your family and to once again connect with them is such a pleasure.

I am impressed that most of us are not simply killing time and are thinking productively. This awareness of the self is so vital. To be able to live with oneself and spend some time envisioning and self-introspecting is actually an opportunity for us in these lockdown days and the earlier we have the realization the better it is for us.

I will tell you a funny example. Your granny is a happy go, lucky ordinary next-door girl. In her late thirties now, she loves to dress up and is a big foodie at heart who would eat her heart out on weekends. But as soon as she realized they are going to be locked down indoors she understood if at all there is a time to control her taste buds and get rigid on the extra pounds the time is now. She planned accordingly and despite all odds in March and April so far she has already lost 7.5 kgs. Bingo! She is so proud of herself. Her farsightedness has helped her fix her fitness routine which always went for a toss before for many reasons beyond her control. So you have a fitter granny writing this letter to you today, to lead by example😊. The problems of being locked down in an unknown state have further helped. Can you notice the change in me in the below pics? The first one was taken on 14th Feb this year and the second one yesterday.

The perfectionist in me goes cynical with her goals dear even if it takes a hit on her sometimes. It’s fine as all of us have bad days but targets need to be accomplished. Take softer ones if you are a beginner at them. Making hay while the sun shines is the need of the hour. By the sun shining here I mean when you have a chance or opportunity. Why not take an online financial planning course or teach making milk bread via the web to help someone learn a new skill or start your own blog or YouTube channel. The dreams can be infinite but now confined at home, we can undoubtedly commence the journey at least.

Do you make goals kid? Make some may be in your studies or in your sports. By the end of April, my goal to write these meaningful letters to you, my precious, shall be fulfilled too hopefully if all goes fine. So you see how goals help us stay motivated even in a claustrophobic life. Do ponder over it.

That’s enough Gyan for today, my love,

Sending lots of love to you
Your granny
