#BookReview: ‘The Last Seychelles Flame’ by Medha Nagur

I am a happy go lucky girl who loves to live life queen size no matter how adverse the circumstances are. My sunshine smile and bubbling energy may ditch you in knowing the vast sea of distraught I may be in and I purposely do that. I love the world to smile with me and not sympathize with me until my last breath. I have hit my lowest in last few months health wise but I am now back with a bang recuperating well and ready to flood you with all the reviews of the books that I have read during this period and this one is about a con-temporary love story ‘The Last Seychelles Flame’ by Medha Nagur.

Feeling low, I was looking forward to a quick breezy read and being a small town girl myself I was instantly glued to this relatable tale of a small town girl Adrija. She was short and very ambitious like me and my interest picked as her story unraveled. I finished this book in one go and if it was author Medha’s maiden attempt at a fiction novella, I would give kudos to her as a reader.

Her protagonist who was brilliant behind the camera, with her hard work bags a prestigious job that takes her to Seychelles. Despite of a strong opposition from her parents she brings laurels to herself until something really catastrophic happens and takes her life for a toss as if her ex boyfriend was not enough to ruin her life. You must read this candid ebook to find out what was that? And did I say, I also liked the character of Omkar in this book, you have to read him to believe him!

I always love a combination of real and reel in the books I read and also in the books I myself pen. An ounce of reality multiples the impact of the book as the reader visualizes himself in these characters partially and is left digging for more. The fact that this books seamlessly weaves the harsh reality of Indian women in small town, whose dreams are crushed each day, in it made it really dear to me for it inspired them to fight for themselves and make big in life.

Since I am a sucker of love stories with happy evenings the end earns brownie points from me and I rate this eBook from the novice author 4 stars out of 5. You did a fantastic job, gal, keep rising and shining! This book was released in Blogchatter E book Carnival some months back and you can acquire a copy here.

About the Author: Medha Nagur is anything but a stereotypical homemaker, at home full time but mostly dazzling the blog world online! A freelance blogger by profession in her past life, she was on her maternity break when she started writing fiction. Have you ever read a book written by an unborn baby or a two year old little peanut? Well I have and here I review it for all of you.

My View : First things first, ‘Diary of a Baby’ is the cutest read I have had in the recent past and that is because I was extremely amused to read how a little baby feels from the time he is in his mom’s womb to till he becomes two years old. While we parents would have often given it a miss that even our little bundle would have had precious emotions about us and others as he entered this huge would, author Mahak has encapsulated the same in such a heart-warming manner.

I almost felt it is the baby talking about how he felt during the different milestones phases of his life and felt connected to his views. Surprisingly in each chapter I also felt as if my own son was speaking to me about how crazy he felt the world was when he began the beautiful journey for life which I feel is the win for the author mommy.

This autobiographical account of a little baby is also important from the viewpoint of quite a few worthy advice shared by the author for new moms at the end of most chapters. Her trials and dilemmas felt so real and I connected to each one of them and wanted to speak to her and discuss it further for instance the potty training imbroglio😊. Only we mom know what a project it is.

Right from the kiddo’s separation anxiety, to not letting mom and dad go out for dinner to the preschool settling saga, I have been there so know it all but hearing from the little one’s one mouth was stupendously wonderful.

Certain chapters left me thinking deep like a baby doesn’t know it’s a pink for girl and blue for boy or it’s a doll for a girl or a car for a boy. The little angels don’t know it, it is the people like the shopkeeper in the book, who teach it to them and then we blame the bias or gender inequalities prevalent in our society. It’s brilliant piece of writing by the author to prick our conscience in the right direction.

Overall I just loved reading this breezy at times comical diary of a baby. If you are a parent and looking for a light, cute and heart-pleasing read, this one’s indeed for you. It is a well structured ebook laid in some amazing chapters. You can download it here.

I would love the author to keep adding more chapters to this book as baby ‘N’ completes three and four and five and many more years😊. Lots of love to him and his gorgeous mommy, need I say, just loved the concept of the book.

Dreams are a vital part of our life and though we are passionate about them, at times we fail to steer them in the right direction to achieve our goals. Last year when I took on #AtoZChallenge I came across this wonderful community which had a Midas touch on my blog during this  period when I published the twenty six true stories on Indian Women. I have said it before and I reiterate it that,  what I admire the most about Blogchatter is its vision, how it envisages a clear road map for its bloggers and opens new vistas for them from time to time like last year when they aided me full throttle in bringing out my first book 'Dare To Defy The Destiny'. Though I had loved every ounce of what I wrote for the challenge and it was very well received by the masses, I would have failed miserably in the technical aspects had it not been Blogchatter.

Yes, last year, my first book saw the dawn of the day in their pioneering one of its kind 'Blogchatter Ebook Carnival' and I am so proud of this fact. In fact they gave it such a magical exposure that it still sells pretty well on Amazon. With time, my trust on them has only grown and I value my association with them from the bottom of my heart.

This year they gave wings to my second most cherished dream of publishing my first fiction novella, a heart touching unique love story ~ 'The Fragrance Of True Love' and my heart often breaks into a happy dance that whoever has read it, has dropped in words of admiration so generously. This is kind of marketing wave Blogchatter builds around your work and I truly trust my work is in the best hands with it which only improves  with time. Blogchatter's Ebook Carnival Season 2 has only grown better with time and this time they have broken all records to publish 36 ebooks  and giving the industry some real good work. A heartfelt congratulations to them for achieving such an incredible feat.

Please do consider this as a genuine post of gratitude to the Blogchatter community which has enriched me in ways more than one and I owe them a lot for establishing me as a writer. Reflections AtoZChallenge : I Set A Goal And Yeah My Second Book Is Releasing Soon

Blogging is an erratic journey and you naturally tend to get lost in the huge ocean of capable and impressive writers if you don't keep your head firm on your shoulders and keep yourself motivated to create something unique to touch the hearts of your readers as well satiate your soul. Plus it is important to have a direction where your blogging is heading and to have goals for your writings. Goals both in terms of the quality you produce and also the quantity in terms of how to maximise the reach of your posts.

No matter how much gyaan you assimilate from your friends you get the real gauge of the situation when you dip in it and either learn to swim or drown and fade away.

Last year as I embraced the coveted #AtoZChallenge I set my first sincere goal of bringing forth 26 true tales of Indian Women evoking an era of change. They were widely appreciated and took the form of an  Kindle ebook which still sells steady on Amazon. Though I had won more than a dozen blogging contests before it, my real recognition came from these twenty six heartfelt renditions talking of women empowerment and liberation which helped in shaping my identity in the blogosphere.

The A to Z Challenge gave me the dedication to fulfil my dreams of being the voice of Indian Women and also gave me the global reach and if you are wondering why I am talking of last year, here's the reason why. Last year's success, blew away layers of dust from my long cherished parallel desire of attempting an eternal Love saga in the form of a novella for I had a strong belief in my story telling capabilities though so far I had mostly played in the non-fiction genre. And yes eleven months ago, I made up my mind to penning a serialised fiction for my #AtoZChallenge in 2017.

Fast forward to the last day of March this year, pressing circumstances forced me to initially think of abandoning the opportunity. I saw my blogger friends theme reveals and rejoiced in their planning with scheduling the posts well in advance....and then suddenly on 1st April I wrote my first introductory post of my novella with absolutely no drafts at all but with the characters only built strong in my head and nowhere else.

An unknown force kicked me out of my slumber and then there was no looking back from there. I wrote every morn at sharp 9 a.m. unfailingly for the characters played havoc in my mind until I brought them to paper. The urge was so strong that despite I met with a serious accident with my face and right hand burnt badly right in the first week of April, I didn't give up. The reason probably was was the appreciation I received for the narration and the story line right at the start. Also, since I knew my goals well in advance and I always love inching close to them despite of the circumstances, without a doubt I sailed ahead.

I wrote close to a thousand words each day and just went with the flow, though I admit I would have spent more time editing but I rather preferred reading my wonderful co-Bloggers who were also participating in the challenge. It felt like family with them and with my loyal readers who accepted my maiden serialised fiction attempt with great love. The month was amazing which also gave some wonderful friends of a lifetime.

Thanks to this awesome challenge and the constant support of team Blogchatter, on 1st May I had the manuscript of my first novella in my hands and as I thoroughly revisited it many times, I admit it was a crude first draft albeit of a beautiful eternal love story. I spent the coming two weeks editing and shaping it into a profound book after uncountable rounds of edits and it shall be available in print as well as ebook versions very soon.

This is an earnest note of gratitude to all of you from Truly Yours Roma, straight from the heart and I wish you will embrace my book with open arms too and shower it with buckets of your love like always.

You know how enthralled I am today, to pour out my heart to you, uninhibited, all emotions just oozing out in their purest forms as my first book gets launched. You are my family to whom I connect Straight From the Heart, who have given an all new meaning to my existence and help me sail towards my dreams, without faltering once .Yes, I owe my heart to you and what does one do at such occasions, run back to his/her family.

Writing is like breathing for me and probably the only thing I knew best from my birth but it was you who introduced me to blogging, appreciated me and motivated me to carve out my own niche.

Last month was absolutely fulfilling for me where I chose to speak 26 true stories of Beautiful Individuals like you and me as a part of a global blogging challenge. My happiness knew no bounds when you embraced them with open arms and graced them with your most generous words of praise, only to help me get better day by day. Some of your personal experiences you wrote to me touched me further as I became all the more motivated to become the voice of your heart.

When the owner of a writer and publisher community approached me with an idea of publishing the heart-touching stories as an e-book, I took a while to embark on the new journey and I am glad I did. And that is when "Dare to Defy the Destiny" was born. With stories of strong moms, soft dads, of adorable daughters and husbands, of Women on top to women who have fallen, you will find Brutal, Real and  Honest. The Idea of bringing forth these poignant rumblings is to let them reach hearts, and let our conscience judge, what is right and wrong, as it's we who comprise the society.

Once we are convinced on it, nothing can stop us from being the "Face of Change". 

Here's a little tribute to all of you for all that you have done for me over the years.
