In this series to raise awareness and support for the less known disease in women, endometriosis we have so far learned about the symptoms, impacts, diagnosis, and treatments for the same.
Today, we will talk about the cost involved in the diagnosis and treatment of Endometriosis.
This disease rarely costs you a bomb so if there is an inhibition in consultation and treatment due to financial aspects please rest assured from this front and go ahead and get yourself treated.
In Allopathic medication, painkillers and oral contraceptives are generally recommended to manage the symptoms in the early stages of the disease which will not cost you more than 1,000 to 2,000 in a month. But, grade III, and grade IV endometriosis will require surgical treatment in most cases as the symptoms cannot be treated otherwise. The average cost of surgery typically ranges around – INR 60,000 to INR 80,000.
So does Insurance cover Endometriosis Surgery?
Well, I am glad it does. Please know that insurance covers the surgical treatment cost for endometriosis. However, it does not cover the infertility treatments caused due to endometriosis.
If you are taking an Ayurvedic Treatment,
a combination of Vasti Panchkarma and Ayurvedic medicinal tablets are given. Monthly medicines will cost from 500-2000 INR depending upon the complications and Vasti Panchkarma for 8 days shall cost you appropriately 8000 INR. This is a very effective technique for cleansing our bodies of toxins and reducing inflammation.
Similarly in the case of homeopathy too, the cost shall be on average around 2000 INR depending upon the practitioner's experience and seniority.
Further to this, the cost of tests for diagnosis and assessing the status of the disease every 6 months or annually in all the above treatments will be 5000-15000 only if required by the doctor.
