Destined to Meet: Aradhya meets Shamit for the first time #RomanticThriller

Hello, this April I am weaving a Romantic thriller where Aaradhya is waiting for her love Shamit, who has vanished seven years ago. The story is being narrated by their best friend Riya. In case you missed the first three chapters of this timeless love saga, I Live To Love you, you can read them here, chapter 1Chapter2, and Chapter3.

Chapter4

As years passed Shamit became more than a friend, a habit. I was sixteen then, the most tender age and was oblivious of my feelings for him. He felt like a chaddy-buddy then, all thanks to all the love her mom had showered on me in all these years. I felt as if I was the daughter of their house. Thanks to Shamit I had started painting quite well and was half done with Aradhya’s portrait I had wished to gift her. Though I must say, Shamit’s master-strokes had added divinity to my amateur art.

We had just finished grade ten and I was back home in Nainital for a week of vacations with the person still closest to my heart. Every time I met her, she looked all the more beautiful like a blooming rose whose beauty enhances with every petal opening up gradually.

She has grown more shy and quiet though. Aunt Neena wanted her to explore the world outside and who would be better than my mom for her to entrust this responsibility. Thus she was exploring an admission possibility in my school. Aaru’s grades made it easier for her though and she would now go to my school and live with us.

The good golden days will now return Aaru!

I felt ecstatic. We had to pack all her important stuff. She looked nervous though. She has been the princess of her house so far, extremely pampered by her mum-dad. Obviously, she was happy too and eager to spread her wings even outside of Nainital, just that she was a little scared to step out of her comfort zone.

I decided to ease her.

C’mon! Let’s go out to all our favorite places downtown. You wanna have chocolate ice cream?

She immediately agreed to spread her divine smile. I knew it was her weakness to sit by the lake relishing a couple of scoops of dark chocolate ever since we were really tiny kiddos.

Riyu, I love my world here, the only thing I don’t have here is you...

I interrupted her sensing the storm inside her,

Your world here is always going to be here for you my love, but now it’s time for you to explore the world outside your world here, to weave new dreams and spread your wings.

She nodded in agreement, spreading her sunshine smile yet again. She has always been a girl of few words when it came to speaking but words were her voice on paper.

We strolled carefreely for a couple of more hours lost in our world. I told her that I have told all my friends about her coming and how excited they all are to meet the girl who was a part of almost every conversation of mine. Also, that Shamit and I are painting a masterpiece for her.

It was difficult to believe Shamit and Aradhya haven’t met yet because to each one of those I had shared infinite stuff about the other to the extent that they already knew each other quite well. Yet, the day and the way they met turned out so special.

So, we came down to Pune and I had set up Aradhya’s stuff in my room. I am glad she instantly felt at home as she had grown up in my mom-dad’s arms and it was like coming to her second home. In just a couple of days, she looked all calm and well placed.

It was the last week of March and Holi was just around the corner. We were at the school for Aaru’s uniform. We met Shamit’s mom, aunt Sandy on the way and she welcomed Aaradhya with open arms. I was always surprised by what a kind-hearted soul she had always been. She lost her husband some years back to a car accident. She still lives in India and runs his business never once thinking to return to her birth-land in Poland. No wonder her gentleness has rubbed on her son too. He wore his chivalry on his sleeves.

Do come in for the special Holi Celebrations at our place tomorrow kids, I will wait for you.

She invited us. I realized I haven’t met Shamit in the last two days that I am back.

Of course Aunty, we’ll be there!

I said though I knew it will be difficult to persuade Aaru to come out with me for Holi. She was so scared of colors, she had always hidden on the Holidays.

It took me crazy cajoling and the promise that I will tell everyone that she is allergic to colours and save her for even an iota of it being applied on her, to persuade her to come along.

Celebrations at Shamit’s place were always extra special. I guess in this excitement, we were the first ones to reach there. The basement was beautifully decorated in myriad colours and there were two big vessels of coloured water with rose petals floating in them.

We were greeted by Sandy aunty. On asking about the whereabouts of Shamit, I was told he is in his room, painting something special. My crazy love for his art was by then known to all. The moment I heard of a new painting, I literally dragged Aaradhya to his room. I had no clue he had set up a prank on us.

As soon as we were about to step into his room, my feet got stuck on the doormat and I stumbled, while Aaru just stepped in and as the door was touched, all the bags with different dry colours set up on top of the door, emptied on her.

Smashhhhhh!!! came the loud thud.

Oh my God, she stood there stone-faced and Shamit in front of her looking right into her eyes. She looked all the more gorgeous covered in all the gorgeous gulaal shades, I wondered if she had turned red from anger underneath those colours.

Obviously Shamit could recognise her as he had helped me paint her curly hair and blue eyes in the portrait that we were making for her though she was all colour clad.

Shamit could see, tears wetting the colours on her face and felt his heart melt at the sight.

He went near her, looked into her eyes and very softly whispered to her,

I am so sorry! I had not set this up for you. Please...please don’t cry. I am Shamit.

But Aaru kept sobbing. She was very scared of colours. She felt angry not on Shamit but on herself to have chosen to come out on Holi at the first place.

It’s ok. I’m Aaradhya.

is all she said to him. She has already developed a soft corner for him in the past few years from the way I had portrayed Shamit to her and rightly so. But I was not sure if after this incident it would remain the same.

In a jiffy, Shamit has fetched out a towel from his cupboard and has pointed it to her.

Come you can wash your face here.

He told her indicating the small basin in his room where he washed his brushes and paint trays.

For the first time, Aaradhya looked up and was awe-struck to see so many paintings and unfinished canvases. He headed to the basin with Shamit, splashed water on her face gently, fearing the rashes may develop by a rub, and took the towel from him to gently wipe.

Thanks! You paint, I have heard.

She said with a faint smile. I was perhaps not right or her anger had vanished.

Like you paint words in poetry.

He was quick to grin back.

Quite unexpectedly, my shy girl expressed a desire to him to have a glance of his work which he humbly obliged.

Each art of yours can be weaved into a poetic composition.

She uttered in sheer admiration and I could see Shamit admiring her back with great fondness.

For a moment I thought I didn’t exist and that my two best friends have forgotten me completely. I quickly gathered myself realizing it was a destined amalgamation of the creativity of two brilliant souls. I was just a medium for them to meet but not to forget a medium which had strong emotions of herself.

So this is how my two beloveds first met totally oblivious of how their fates would get entwined together in true love only to meet and then be separated forever. No one knows Shamit’s whereabouts now and do I feel guilty, well yes and no. Wait to read tomorrow as you take a delve into their blooming love.

Can I help you, Shamit has asked in a velvety voice #BlogchatterA2Z #RomanticThriller

Hello, this April I am weaving a Romantic thriller where Aaradhya is waiting for her love Shamit, who has vanished seven years ago. The story is being narrated by their best friend Riya. In case you missed the first two chapters of this timeless love saga, I Live To Love you, you can read them here, chapter 1, Chapter2.

Chapter3

It was my first day to school in Pune and I was feeling the evident void. Subconsciously through out the day my eyes kept searching for Aaradhya though other students in class did try remotely to make me feel welcome. Nevertheless they conversed in Marathi which further repelled the reclusive me.

The last period was of Painting. Since I had not got the sheets and paints the teacher asked me to borrow it from someone for that day.

Can I help you?

I heard a velvety voice from right behind me. I turned back to find a secretive smile to greet me but my eyes first landed on his painting. It was unbelievably therapeutic. He has drawn a sunset in the backdrop of a church and a young girl walking towards it. For some reason the painting felt soulful, the colours spoke to me. I am bad with brushes but have a been eye for some fantastic strokes.

As if getting out of a trance, I realised I have someone waiting for my answer.

Yes, please and you really paint beautifully!

I love dipping emotions in colours and dropping them on the canvas.

He replied. It was too deep an answer for his age, I might have wondered at that time. But because I liked him, I would rather like to begin it all on a happy note.

So along with a sheet and colours, I will also like to borrow some tips on painting so well in the coming classes.

Yes, sure. I will help the best I can.

After school we introduced ourselves to each other and for the first time I noticed that not only his thoughts were deep, so were his eyes.

Hi I am Riya, I hail from Nainital and my dad has just picked a job here.

Wow, my mom tells me how serene a place Nainital is. By the way, I am Shamit born in Poland but grew up mostly in India.

The best part was he conversed in English or Hindi and not Marathi, another reason we instantly picked a liking for each other. So it was actually good in the school with him, he introduced me to his friends too, so we became a solid gang of buddies. Icing on the cake was we all lived in the same housing society and the tomboyish me found a clan.

Of course I missed Aaradhya and spoke to her as often as possible. We both have also decided that we would pen mini-letters in our diary for each other and share it when we meet about how we felt. On the first day to school I wrote,

7 July 1993

9 p.m.

Dear Aaru,

My first day at school here without you was so morose, I was thinking of all possible ways to survive a life sans you but I kept failing miserably as I only saw you everywhere.

In the last period though, I met someone, His name is Shamit. When I first saw him, I can’t take my eyes off. You know why? He reminded me of you so much. His deep eyes and profound thoughts are so much like yours. His helping nature too wooed me. He is a budding painter and you a young poetess.

By the way, I hope you are continuing with your writing. I so look forward to reading you when we meet in summer vacations, my love.

How’s life without me? I wish and pray we get to live our lives together forever soon.

Yours

Riya

It had hardly been a month that I was away from her and I was already so looking forward to meeting her and confide in all that was happening in the new mystical city with seemed bizarre to me initially. Above all I wanted to tell her about Shamit, my new friend, how I adore his art and absolutely relish his Polish mom’s bakes. Then, I could never imagine that we will see this day when Shamit’s disappearance would turn my girl insane. Tomorrow I shall narrate to you how they met and also how my own feelings matured.

Beautifully Precious Childhood and then the separation #RomanticThriller

Hello, this April I am weaving a Romantic thriller where Aaradhya is waiting for her love Shamit, who has vanished seven years ago. The story is being narrated by their best friend Riya. Incase you missed the plot of this timeless love saga, I Live To Love you, you can read it here, chapter 1.

Chapter2

Aaradhya was born in Nainital to my mother’s first cousin Aunt Neena and Uncle Ree who ran a designer candles factory downhill, in the chilly winters of 1980. My mom was very fond of Aunt Neena and since we lived next door their bond was closer than that of real sisters.

While we were four siblings, it was only after many years of prayers that my aunt was blessed with Aaradhya. That’s why she was so special to them as well to us, our blue eyes, curly-haired doll. No matter where we went we tucked her along. Particularly to me, she meant the world as I was the closest to her in age.

My first memories of her are when we tip-toed hand in hand to our school as tiny first graders along the banks of the pristine backwaters of lake Naini. How the time flew in my special friend’s company is difficult to fathom today.

Whether in school or back home or to play we were inseparable. We celebrated our birthdays together, our sad days together, and often slept sharing our hearts with each other giggling unnecessarily at times. Those undoubtedly were the best days of my life.

Aaradhya was always very soft, sober, composed, and a prolific writer. She did most of her talking through her eyes or through her pen. We both had our personal diaries and we habitually penned each night. Writing down our raw innocent emotions was so much fun.

Going by the definition of a personal diary,  we never read each other’s thoughts. We also loved music deeply. Our traditional folk and the bell chimes of the Naina Devi temple were our absolute love. On our way back from school we often spent an hour by the lake near the temple. It was so divine, so therapeutic. We loved our precious world. Aaradhya has great taste in old Hindi songs too and she often hummed them for me.

We had no clue who Shamit was? Or that he would enter our lives like a storm and change our world forever. Honestly nor had we discussed a boy ever, we were more into our studies, kind of girls though as we grew up a bit some boys started eyeing my blue-eyed girl which I literally hated. But it was all momentary after me trying to shoo them away protectively.

When I was thirteen and Aaradhya about twelve, my dad retired from Merchant Navy and took up a job in Pune. Never had I imagined that we would have to abandon our abode and lock it to relocate to another city.

With a broken heart, I bid goodbye to my most special buddy utterly confused as to what I will do without her for I had not lived a day without her so far. With tearful eyes we hugged promising each other to meet during the school vacations when dad has promised we will come back every year.

I am going to miss you!

She muttered in my ears with tears welled up in her eyes.

Love you, Precious! You are stronger than you know. C’mon now smile.

I had to pacify her for a while before getting in the car. Aunt Neena too promised her that she would make her speak on phone with me every day, taking our delicate darling gently in her arms.

Well, earnestly it was all destined. I was going to find the best person on this earth very soon. Sometimes I feel I was born to be the medium for Aradhya and Shamit to find their love in this birth. But today as I see Aradhya waiting hurtfully for Shamit year after year I feel I am the cause of her pain. There is so much to tell, so much to confess but I am truly short of words...

A Timeless Love Saga: I Live To Love You #RomanticThriller

Ham tere pyar mein sara aalam Kho bhaithe hain’, the melodious rendition by Lata Mangeshkar soaked her in divine joy as Aradhya waited for Shamit to return.

This was his favorite playlist, he had especially curated for her on her 18th birthday and listening to it made her feel his presence all around her. It was a ritual she has followed for years, at six every evening, she would sip her coffee caressing the plant babies she has reared in her tiny terrace garden.

Humming the songs along as she watered the peace-lilies, didn’t make her realise her wait for her Shamit has been a tad bit long, seven years, 4 months, 23 days to be precise.

Seven years ago, one fine day he had left home, kissing Aradhya goodbye with a promise to see her in the evening and enjoy their favourite songs together, not to return until today. Every single search for him has ended in a heart-breaking result. But Aradhya paid no heed to her family members repeated requests or reprimands.

She still lives draped in his love, in his room, which to her smells of him and makes her feel his presence everywhere.

Often she feels his warm breath on her face and his soft embrace. Those moments are enough for her to lead a lifetime waiting for a man she loved so deeply and who is return showered her with all the happiness of the world before she even asked for it.

For everyone else he was gone, gone forever and will never come back but for her it’s just any fine moment that he will return. Such strong is her belief. Her trust on him is unshakable. Her heart says he is there somewhere and her love one day surely shall compel him to be back in her arms forever.

She knows not where did he vanish, all she knows that their love is divine and they are only and only meant to be united forever. No other fate can  befell their adorable love story whose seeds were planted decades ago.

Theirs is a friendship one of its kind. Their hearts are weaved by a beautiful delicate thread or pure serene love which shines in their eyes when they look at each other. They have been this madly in love for years and it has only grown by leaps and bounds. The way they mutually adored and cared for each other was truly special.

Hi everyone! I am Riya, Aradhya and Samit’s best friend who knows them both from before they both even met each other. Theirs is a timeless unique love story I could not hold myself from telling you. It tells us how love is truly beyond everything ever told or fathomed about it ever. Though I know Shamit is not there but how I wish he is there somewhere for Aradhya, my Aradhya. She deserves him or should I say they both deserve each other like no one else.

Stay tuned to see this beautiful tale of two innocent hearts or should I say three,  unfold in front of your eyes, each day.
