How to infuse the principles of #SharetheLoad in our tiny tots: Laying the Foundation Right

The best gift we can give our little Munchkins
Is to plant in their tender hearts, gender equality's saplings

Set an example of lovingly sharing the load
Erasing the age-old mental block of laundry being only a mom's job

As you sow, so will you reap..someone puts it so aptly. Similar are the underlying principles of Gender Equality. No matter what had been the scenario traditionally (of all the house chores being primarily a woman's job), what example we set before our little munchkins today will go a long way in establishing the gender roles in their tender minds.Though the statistics paint a gloomy picture but we know in our hearts,  it's true, that 2 out of every 3 children in India think that washing their clothes is their mother's job so what if she goes to office like dad and works shoulder to shoulder with him. It's a pity that 78% girls in India believe that them must learn to do laundry as it is vital to their happy life when they grow up and gets married, their dads too think alike. The outcome is heart-wrenching shared most poignantly in the above video, which definitely is an eye-opener for all of us. The onus of being the 'Face of Positive Change' lies upon us.

If today we choose to break the age-old inertia in our household, we not only reap priceless love and togetherness in our family today and break the stereotypes but also lay the right foundation of gender equality in the eyes of our little ones. This for me forms the underlying concept of how we can emboss the principles of #SharetheLoad in little minds at a tender age.

Let me site an example of my very home. My little sonny does not understand the gender distinction in doing house work all thanks to my hubby who has always ensured that all the house chores may it be cooking , washing or laundry all equitably shared between the both of us.This is what is the secret behind our happiness for it's not one of us who is overburdened.

As we both are working we take turns each day in cooking, cleaning and teaching our little boy, we keep laundries for our weekends and that's for a very special reason. It's a weekend fun game for all 3 of us which teaches us division and dignity of labour, respect for all as well aids is spend quality time together. While my 7 year old boy is allotted the task of segregation of dirty clothes, socks etc based on colour and other parameters we have taught to him, dad does the laundry on the washing machine with our ever trust-able and all time favourite Ariel Matic , I am assigned the job of picking them from drier and spreading. All of us sharing lots of laughter and fun moments while finishing.

It gives me immense joy and satiates my soul to see that my son quite naturally feels the urge of helping mom and dad and does not feel that it's his mom's work to do laundry or cook. So much so that I have often overheard him telling his friends that his most favorite times are when he helps his parents cook, to do laundry or set bed for his tired mom and dad. In-fact be motivates his classmates too to do the same.

Lately me and hubby dear are also motivated by the Brilliant Concept of laundry going Odd Even by Ariel and intend to rest the other partner on alternate days of her load of laundry. We are planning to also invent a new fun game for little sonny around this where he will be the odd even Calendar keeper :)

The real joys of life indeed lie in sharing your partner's work as sharing is caring. So folks, please get into the groove and lead by example your little ones, #SharetheLoad at home of every chore, to let them not figure out something that is called gender bias( How we all will love this).I promise you the moment you begin you will experience a great feeling of contentment and gratitude for your spouse, who has been thanklessly doing it for years. Deeply appreciate Ariel Team for bringing on this worthy initiative with Akshara and working wonders around generating, worth emulating awareness, for sharing the load by dads.It sure is One Best Step In The Right Direction.

"Y"outh Power: The only way to mitigate Gender Disparity and related Crimes

This is my penultimate post buddies of this enriching journey of 26 True Tales of Indian Women from all across India...and after hours and days of assimilation what I gather is if there is something that can uplift the plight of the Indian Women in our stagnating patriarchal society, it is the power of the Youth!!!

It's only we each one of us can bring about the difference, a difference in our thought process and actions which reflect equality and mutual respect...n lead by example can we spread the wave and nurture a healthier society in our children...😊

Alpana and Akshat, both were blessed with the gifts of jab and were quite famous writers/bloggers in the writing community, when they tripped over each other's writings and they found it quite similar ... The fact that they thought alike and loved to pen their thoughts in the similar fashion brought them close and their friendship soon culminated into love...When the parents met to take the wedding decision ahead and discuss other related matters.. Akshat refused politely but firmly, to accept a single gift in cash or kind...When Alpana's parents insisted that she was their only daughter and that they have amassed loads for her, Akshat said that they may give the same if they thought their daughter is inferior to him and needed to be sent to him with money and gifts...and thus he and his parents accepted the love of his life in a dress she was clad in....Akshat also silenced his parents that they may take gifts if they had no faith in his abilities and really wanted to hurt him!He has dared to be the face of change and the world was sure to follow as his goodness truly was contagious👌

Alpana's heart swell with pride for her  decision of having chosen the right man, for whom she and he are equal human beings💕...She felt so blessed every moment of life and basked in respect and confidence on her love💁

Akshat was truly not only a man of great words but also great deeds...When Alpana was requested bed rest for 9 months due to a complicated pregnancy, he kept her in arms...Right from managing the household cores and instructing the cook , to giving a pep talk to her love before leaving to work , he managed it all and that too without a frown😇
They were soon blessed with a little Prince Charming who made their world all the more beautiful❤️ and all thanks to Akshat's care and warmth both mom and baby were absolutely healthy....Alpana could thus resume her career nicely after the maternity break and always made it a point she was complementing Akshat's love and vision and is with him in all his dreams and endeavours 😊

Their son is nine now and has grown up to be an absolute gem...He assists mom and dad in everything and understands nothing what is called Gender Inequality for he has never seen anything of that sort in his house for so so many years!

I am sure tomorrow he sure will become as great a husband and dad as his father because his dad had yearned hard to lay the foundation right!!He will not be the one who indulge in the crimes against women , rather would be the one who'll stand for her rights nad equality!! More Power to such Young Man as Akshat who are determined to correct the patriarchal course of our society and make it a beautiful and worthy place to live in 🙏

"P"riorities when given as a Reason for Extra Marital Affairs

It breaks my heart whenever I hear someone justifying his friend's action that because his wife's priorities shifted to their kid post child birth that he looked for the love outside of his house ....

"Mira and Kabir were a deeply in love couple❤️...their fondness can be sensed by anyone in the vicinity and was truly contagious❤️...Both were doing extremely well in their careers...Kabir dropped Mira to her cab early morn though being a sales guy he really loved sleeping late❤️ And Mira always prepared his favorite dinner and ensured they ate dinner together from the same plate❤️...Rice he always ate from her hands morsel by morsel until the last bite!

In time other than their work, they had great fun from watching movies to hitting discs to taking frequent vacations together ❤️... Their world revolved around each other and they loved it that way 😊.

They also were the true motivation for each other and being best buddies stood by each other's dreams...but something changed at the birth of their baby...though they both were on Cloud 9 to welcome their little princess and Kabir ensured Mira got all possible comforts while at work or home, there was something that was going within him...

Mira too was juggling between work, crazy travel that her assignment called for and her tiny soul waiting for her at home...Both mom and dad adjusted their times so that one worked 6 to 4 while the other 12 to 10 to say he is not only with the nanny for most hours!

But actually Kabir missed spending time with Mira and so does she.. He craved for her old loving ways and she despite of trying her best, couldn't give him the same attention and love ...she got terribly exhausted by the end of the day, and  wanted his shoulder so much...

They did make up a bit during weekends but there were so many pending tasks of the week to be taken care of..while Mira was expressive and always shared her heart out Kabir was an introvert!

With passing time the romance between them died a slow death...while they were still very caring for each other, the void in Kabir's heart kept growing stronger... They both were now perfect parents to their kid but that's all they were!

Kabir now embraced Silence and his laughter and jokes no more echoed in their home... Though Mira tried to ignite the passion flame now but Kabir had built a strong wall of preconceived notions about her in his heart forever...

She really didn't know why he felt so insecure so much so that for years after he even dreaded the thought of having a second child...

Mira still loved him most dearly and decided to discuss and explain to him how priorities may vary but that will not diminish her love for him, so she decided to surprise him in his office and go out for lunch with him..

She wore his most favorite Fuschia dress and reached outside his cabin... as she was about to open the door, she could hear loud burst of Kabir's laughter from inside, the ones she missed so much... as she walked inside, she saw another women with Kabir, they were having Lunch from the same lunch box and Kabir trying to eat the morsel from her hands while she was shaking it here and there...

There was pin drop Silence for a couple of seconds which seemed longer than a lifetime....................."

A billion questions flooded her heart simultaneously..What should she do? What would you have done in such a situation?

Finally, I fought all odds to take up the #AtoZChallenge 2016 : Face Of Change (Theme Reveal)

Better Late than Never...A Big Hello to All my esteemed Fellow Bloggers and Readers of #AtoZChallenge 2016 and here I am without much adieu, revealing to you the theme which is closest to my heart and I wish to use the power of my pen, to reveal and urge to the world to stand up for this cause....

In the 26 days of this coveted challenge, I am going to precisely talk about the need of Women Rights and Liberation as despite of them, working shoulder to shoulder with man in all walks of life, Crimes against Women and Gender Inequality are the two menaces which are still destroying the foundation of Peaceful Happy Co-existence in our society (in most Asian countries).

Herein, I shall be narrating real life stories of Indian Women, how their souls are charred each day and how they still dread the patriarchal society which always treats them as the lower and inferior sex

My earnest endeavor is, these posts reach the maximum people and serve an eye opener to the preparators  of inhuman crimes against Women...My heart would be in peace, even if I succeed partially in this mission of mine!

Trust we will be connected straight from the Heart, in this journey for a cause and be the FACE OF CHANGE...
