Dear Zindagi, here's an Earnest Note of Gratitude to you Straight from the Heart ❤❤

Indian Bloggers

Dear Zindagi,

I am so happy writing to you today,  eventually. For long, I owed this note of gratitude to you for making me destiny's chosen child and teaching me how to weave the tit  bits of joy and drop the elongated strands of setbacks, while sailing through this precious journey with you. When the world abandoned me right at my birth for being a girl child, you held my tiny finger firmly and became my first inspiration to live. Probably in those overwhelming moments I had learnt to stay positive no matter how hard the circumstances hit. No on else but you taught me how to spread my first smile which I flaunt till date with equal pride.

Amidst all the turmoil, you gave me my awesome dad who took me away promising himself to always protect his tiny damsel. Can I thank you enough for this blessing? Mom selflessly sacrificed her ambitions to give me the right foundation. Again, Can I thank you enough for conferring her to me...

Life for me thereafter became a bed of equal number of roses and thorns but I am glad you have taught me how to hold on the dimmest ray of hope in a room dark. Thus at the age of 4 when I was sent to live with my maternal grandparents for seeking better education and my parents could not manage time to come and meet me,  I already knew  destiny has decided to test its favorite child again but you know what, you have already given me the confidence to take life in my stride as it comes.

My fondness for you thus kept multiplying with every passing day. I always feel you are my best friend to whom I pour out my heart each day for umpteen years. From you crops my Divine connection to Writing. You are my favorite Teacher who lets me learn it all the hard way by facing and experiencing every situation head on. And did I say, I truly enjoy your company.

You best aspect is you challenge me by entrapping me in tricky situations, you get my social science board exam marks printed at 46 in place of 96 on the mark-sheet and then you make me fight hard to come out victorious with flying colors. You make me miss my counseling call for an All India Rank of 436 in Engineering Entrance Examination and then you get me admission in a college where I meet my eternal soulmate. How much I adore this hide and seek of ours when you chose to grant me two biggest joys of my life, my dream job and the news of my pregnancy on the same day leaving me to fathom the dilemma and clear my mind on my priorities.

Of course there are moments when I curse you for testing me like hell but I guess now I appease myself stating that I am your favorite and this is your way of enriching my journey. Thus it's only pure love that oozes out for you from my heart. I want to hug you tight, the way I used to hug mom before she left for heavenly abode many years back. That time was really tough and thank you for giving me the inner strength to take care of my dad and little brother.

With failing words, I express my gratitude to you for being such a worthy companion through thick and thin and embracing me wholeheartedly like your own baby. Thank you for not abandoning me at any stage and holding on firmly to the tiny finger you had held at my birth. Thank you for the wonderful gifts you have enriched my life with, my precious half and my little bundle of joy.Thank you for making me capable to look into the eyes of worst and live life king size on my own terms.Thank you #DearZindagi, over and over again for everything, I truly owe my heart to you, forever and ever..

Hey, I witness some beautiful moments of you in the upcoming flick which is named after you - 'Dear Zindagi'. It stars the King Khan and Alia Bhatt and is yet another lovely tale of yours. Come let's watch it together.

What A Day It Was : A Decade Later I Relive It For You

Indian Bloggers

Some Days are Real Pearls
Which when woven into a garland
Adorn life and make it beautiful

Our wedding was truly a dream come true and so was our wedding day. It has taken some real hard-work to convince our families and get their nod for us to tie the knot with everyone's blessings. And I am so glad our love did win and after a lot of discussions and rescheduling, our wedding date was finally locked. The venue for the same was fixed at bride groom's place as per the need of the hour and almost everyone was invited on either side. This being an extreme inter caste wedding, my mom has been meticulous in noting down all their customs and the essentials for them. On the other hand, I and S have been silently praying that all goes well.

Flashback:  5 December 2005
The day began on a sweet note when my granny woke me up for the customary 4a.m. rose petals bath. I almost froze in the December chill but all for her love I did managed to smile throughout. Or was it the overwhelming feeling of eventually getting united with your love that made the sail through the infinite customs that day seem like a cakewalk.

It was a 24 hour wedding with Engagement, Pheras and the Reception all planned in the same day. This being the first wedding from our side and the last from theirs, the excitement was at peak. Almost every relative and friend on the guest list has made it and their presence and smiles were priceless for us. There was no differentiation between the hosts and guests and everyone was ready to contribute their bit on what was going to be a perfect medley, albeit a little confusing, of Kaistha and Baniya Ceremonies, in the pious city of Allahabad.

After finishing the early morn ceremonies at the guest house, I was clad in a blue Saree sent by the groom's side and escorted to the banquet. A mere glance at the banquet which was decorated in white and red flowers was so appealing and soothing. I ran my eyes through how huge and mesmerizing it was..I was living my dream. My prince charming would come in a while and complete our fairy tale and yes I could see him waiting on the stage.

The next ritual that morn was God Bharai and Ring Ceremony. As I moved slowly on the red flower-laden aisle towards him, my heart started beating faster. It's a very special feeling words fail me to describe. We have known each other for umpteen years, but today when he looked into my eyes, I blushed. He kept smiling while talking to his cousins and friends who surrounded us. I am sure they were cracking jokes and discussing our love story as I could see them burst into laughter but I heard nothing, my heart was humming its own tunes and dancing in ecstasy. I was silent and if anything, they were my tinkling eyes that gave away all the secrets.

In a while, he has held my hand in his to skid the ring into my finger. The tenderness with which he held my hand and the earnest and candid gesture of very gently moving the ring inside touched me, for this warmth and care was the quality which I loved the most in him. Someone from the crowd shouted loud that now their boy was no more theirs and all of us grinned aloud crazily on many jokes which followed until our stomachs ached.

The day advanced slowly, we didn't speak much to each other and only exchanged some love tit-bits on our BBMs occasionally between so many outfit changes, photo shoots and customs from either side. I understood a few and did not many others but was elated, super-elated.

It was now time for the Pheras which would unite us and our souls, at least for 7 births. The Phera Pandal was made of glass and was placed amidst huge lawns adorned with flowers of myriad shades. Now, I was dressed in a made to order half red half yellow Saree bearing in mind the colors required from either side for this ceremony.

Words again fail me to describe my gratitude to my mom for doing all the homework so impeccably for every single custom so that no religious sentiments are hurt. The priest was a great learned intellectual who translated the sanskrit shlokas of Pheras in English  for me. He was a guy who has also conducted the wedding ceremony of S' s Parents and thus his connection to our family was deep as was evident from his love for us which oozed out of his eyes.

He blessed us and concluded our wedding after kanyadaan during which I peeped into my dad's moist eyes. Though they were numb they also seemed confident that he was handing over his princess in the right hands. It was heartening that he trusted my choice but all said and done leaving mom and dad was a very heavy feeling. S sensed my anxiety and like a perfect partner tried to make the moment lighter. My little brother whom I didn't realize when had grown so sensible, realizing the gravity of the moment, picked me up in his arms and took me to groom's side for the next following ceremonies.

The party was in full swing. Yummy food was laid in the lawns and the Dance Floor was burning hot. While I walked down to get ready for the Wedding Reception, I could see everyone making merry. It was a pleasure seeing everyone happy on the happiest day of our life. My cousin helped me getting ready in the gorgeous orange lehenga(Indian Bridal Dress) my mum chose for me and then went to get ready herself.

It was about 10:45 in the night when S texted me that he is waiting for me for a long time to which I replied in innocence that I have been ready for a while too but there is no one around me to fetch me to him. In just a couple of minutes I saw him bending in front of me as he whispered in my ears - "You are now officially mine! You need no one else" and then with his known gentleness he held my hand and walked me to the Reception stage.

On stage, I met S' s dad,  a wonderful  human being at heart for whom we had squeezed all the events in a single day and preponed our wedding by more than 2 months as he was at the last stage of lung cancer. His last wish was fulfilled and we were glad we could fulfill it beautifully as he miraculously lived for many more days.

Next couple of hours went in meeting and greeting guests and full on DJ Masti along with the mandatory solo performance by the Bride.

I performed on Kajrare Kajrare - Aishwarya Rai's most popular number of that time though it wasn't easy to do so in a heavy lehenga and heels. Nevertheless, I went with the flow of the moment and danced my heart out in which S joined soon.

Post an exorbitant dinner, came the Vidai which was the only heart- breaking event of the day though my parents chose not to shed a single tear and bid me good times ahead. No doubt they are the pillars of all my strength. My little brother concluded the last ceremony by pushing our car out of the gate. In a few minutes, we were home, my new and forever to be home.

Everyone welcomed us with a lot of love and soon we were taken to our room. It was 3 a.m. by then...and we have to get up at 6 for the Pooja. So did we sleep for the next 3 hours? Obviously not...one and a half hour he spent in removing the not less than hundred Jooda (Hindi Word for a Hair-bun) pins in my hair and the rest one and half hour went in laughing at our bed with squeaked aloud at every single movement of ours.

Truly 'What a day it was'. It gifted me forever togetherness with the love of my life. It's been more than ten years since then but the memories of the precious and priceless moments of that day are forever imprinted on my heart and it was indeed a pleasure re-living them day here. Trust you enjoyed the sail-through as much as I did.

And yes, I would like to conclude this post with us of today who still bask in the glory of that awesome day which united us forever :)

The Missing Piece Of Her Heart

She opened the blank notebook...
And felt ecstatic like a small child

Before the pen could touch the paper
The blank sheet got studded with her pearl-like tears of joy

Umpteen lovely memories of the yesteryears came flooding her heart
As she was overwhelmed to reminisce how a long time ago her life was a pen and paper

Writing and creating masterpieces that soothed her soul
This was only what she has known from the age of four

Mommy dearest always motivated her to the core
And mom's princess resided safely and cozily in her writing world

Until the day she lost her and also died her inspiration to jot
Overwhelming tears and a broken heart locked the pen and paper forever in the drawer

In the notebook that day was also shut
Her mother's dream to see her carve her niche in the writing world...

That closed notebook was kept in the same chest for years while the lovely Anna got caught in the everyday hustle bustle of life. For the next decade and a half, having lost both her parents, she worked extremely hard to make both ends meet. Later completing her education part time,  she got into a reputable job and mom's princess married her prince charming. Her precious half was a extremely worthy human being who agreed to reside in her ancestral home which had all the memories of her mom. Together they lead a beautiful life and by the grace of almighty were very respectful and loving towards each other.

Anna now had everything one could boast of and she juggled the dual responsibility of work and home quite well. Her home sweet home was a heavenly abode and she always thought her mother would be so satisfied to see her from above.

Mom's little angel who once loved her dream world so much has grew up into a practical wise lady. Very seldom though she experienced a void in the darkest hidden corner of her heart with mild streaks of pain but she always immediately shunned the thoughts and got caught in her everyday nitty gritties.

But she was destiny's chosen child and things were undoubtedly meant to change. When wonderful motherhood arrived and tinkled her soul, the deepest chords of her heart were struck with the extreme divine feeling. Probably this was the time when the void too, in silent steps, pleaded her to visit her once and this time, compelled enough, she agreed.

And thus she headed towards the same chest kept in the terrace room. She gradually opened the drawer and pulled out the shut notebook.

Tenderly she wiped off heaps of dust piled on it
And with trembling hands and eyes numb, opened the blank notebook...

She could hear the silent moaning of her heart
For this is what for years it has craved for

Summoning all her courage, she grabbed a pen
And like a free-flowing cascade poured out all her deep emotions

For the first time words failed her to express
How truly wonderful and satiated she felt

The void was gone at the out pour of those straight from the heart words
And the blank notebook mirrored her mom's dream to her

In the serenity of the blank page,
She found her heart's missing piece

Which created that void which ached
Elated she felt to get it back

Confident she promised to her mom in heaven above
That for her she now would never quit writing and carve her niche in the writing world.

She now embarked on a new journey
And in the opened blank notebook, rewrote her Destiny.

Holi was, is and always will be Absolute Bliss for our Toli❤️❤️

With Holi around the corner, childhood memories of this sheer fun and frolic filled colourful festival come drifting in, coaxing me to shun all inhibitions and once again #khulkekheloholi like yester years 😊 and I have been doing and will be doing exactly that....

I know decades have passed, people have moved on and unfortunately Holi is gradually loosing it's charm... But, I am glad nothing much seems to have changed for us... I mean me and my bestie with the only difference, that I now call him my hubby❤️❤️

Yes, I can still hear mom yelling crazily to oil our hair and even body with her trusted Parachute Hair Oil , while we were busy planning our water pranks and assimilating our colours collection...for she knew she's gonna have a tough time for days while bringing down the colours off us! But the excitement and the jubilation of those moments made us feel ecstatic and our excitement knew no bounds...not to remember anything else!

Holi was absolute Bliss for our Toli❤️❤️ comprising of a huge herd of all we neighborhood kids😊.... There was no worry about our next day's exam with our entire focus only being on who would be the next target of our water filled balloon...

Also, we spared no friends of our colors no matter where they were hidden  and a dip in the huge tub full of colors was an absolute must😊😊

I and my best friend used to lead the gang and were the centre of all the Holi Mastii and we were recognized by our Holi pranks.... Many years later being married to each other, we have still managed maintained our name...

Undoubtedly, Holi still remains the most eventful and joyous festival for my family ❤️❤️ .... This year though on account of drought being declared in Maharashtra, we intend to have equal amount of dry fun by playing with dry Gulals ❤️❤️

Like every year we have invited all our friends and relatives with their spouses and kids to our place for loads of fun, food and Mastii 😊.

We have made the colors out of corn flour and edible colors as taught to my little sonny is school to have utmost Mastii without harming any body ❤️

With my precious half and my bestie landing in the evening from tour, tonight we plan to make Gujiyas and other Holi special delicacies over some serious prank planning for our friends ... After all there can't be a better way to relive your childhood again than to #KhulkeKheloHoli👌👌 and too with our little boy and family and friends!

Happy Holi Folks, Have a Blast...
Play Holi till your colors last❤️❤️

Author's Note: “I’m pledging to #KhulKeKheloHoli this year by sharing my Holi memories atBlogAdda in association with Parachute Advansed.”

My Precious Possession of some choicest #MemoriesforLife imprinted forever on my heart

Sometimes, I feel so blessed to have born a woman...to not only fathom the deep sea of emotions, warmth and care for my love ones but also profess wisdom, endurance , patience and faith all simultaneously...I have thoroughly enjoyed my  journey as a women learning and evolving through each of it's phase, and thus weaving precious Memories for Life!

The most beautiful one of all of these undoubtedly being the pleasure of being a mom....motherhood has knocked the softest corners of my heart and the treasure of those priceless moments are forever etched on my heart..I love to relive those moments as often as possible but every time it still wets my eyes and gently tinkles and soothes my soul! In this post, I narrate this most beautiful chapter of my life..

Getting almost swept back in times....

This dates to about 7 years back, I had accidentally conceived and though I was happy, being so caught up in my high profile career, the feeling hasn't really sank in...I was pretty young, just married and was always travelling owing to my profile..Yes, I did have some cravings but that was only at 2:30 a.m mostly...I was a carefree soul who hasn't learn to settle...

Months flew, on 1 st march I attended a crucial board room meeting at 7 p.m.  followed by a sumptuous dinner made by hubby darling and a game of Scrabble, our favorite...That was exactly when my water bag burst..there was a lot of confusion plus our Gynac too was not in town.....

Amidst all this, it was the first time I chose to stay calm, for I realized my anxiety will bother my little one side...I felt so connected and so protective about this tiny soul within me...I had become a mom, a real mom,  a few moments before his birth...

I was conscious during the C-section as it was a partial anesthesia with my husband holding my hand...In a few moments, the doctor spoke aloud from behind the screen on my lower half, " Roma, It's a Baby Boy!" AAhhhh...what a feeling it was...when the nurse gave him to us for a few seconds saying you can now kiss the baby...Tears flew down from both mine and hubby's eyes...it was pure ecstatic joy...pure motherly love oozed out of me as I caught first glance of him, in the sunlight that peeped in from the window...He looked like an angel sent straight from God...Words Fail me to express, what a divine moment it was for me that transformed me into a mom, only a mom, forever a mom, from being everything else in the world. So this is when the feeling really sank in...

His First smile, first word, his first step, his first day to school, his first award are all #Memoriesoflife for me...Today he is seven years old but I still love to play with his fingers like I did when he was my little baby..Time has flew so fast and I am glad he is growing up into a fantastically talented boy...

I still so much insist on keep weaving these sweet memories and they aid us said smoothly even through the rough patches of life!

HDFC Life gave me this rare opportunity to send a message to my sonny boy also with creating a scrapbook for him, which I loved to do, you can read the same here as well as create yours too:

I could not resist sharing this lovely commercial too, which touched the core of our heart and teaches us so much....
