5 Reasons I Loved Code M on ZEE5

Image Courtesy: Video Streaming Platform ZEE5

I am often glued to ZEE5 originals and more often than not, am in love with the extraordinary concepts of their shows. The variety intrigues me and binge-watching their series is my current latest pass time. Lately, I devoured their Original Thriller Web Series called Code M staring my favorite Jennifer Winget in the lead role and of my what an absolute delight it turned out to be. It is created and produced by Juggernaut Productions and is in Hindi language.

Here are my earnest 5 cents of why I loved it to the core.

The Lead

In Code M, Jennifer has played an Indian army lawyer Major Monica Mehra. Words fail me to express, how impeccably she has portrayed the role and am in awe of her for making such a grand digital debut through ZEE5. They indeed are one of the best launch pads of today’s times. Undoubtedly, she was the first reason I could not resist this show and I am so glad she didn’t let me down. Loved how she only got better and better as the character of the no-nonsense army personnel evolved, in this gripping show which actually has quite a mysterious name.

The Plot

Secondly, what also fascinated me was the plot of the series. The storyline revolves around Monica being assigned a military encounter case which appears an open and shut one prima facie, by her superior, Col. Suryaveer Chauhan (played by Rajat Kapoor) but her deep-rooted investigations unfold such concealed secrets that they send ripples around the entire army and of course chills of uncertainty down our spines too. Her rendezvous with her ex-boyfriend Legal Counsel Angad Sandhu (played by Tanuj Virwani) and their maturity in respecting each other as the story unfolds gets really worth rooting for.

The Cliffhangers
The series has eight gorgeous episodes and forces you to watch all in one go as each episode ends at a cliffhanger and one can’t resist the temptation to check what happened next. The seasoned performances make it impossible for me to lift my eyes off-screen even for a moment. It indeed was some good piece of writing and screenplay. I am sure you are going to love it too.

The Nuances

The nuances in the show are executed to perfection and are very unique and relatable. For me, they were the foundation of this memorable mini-series that has left me asking for more in its forthcoming seasons which I am sure would have already been conceptualized.

The Message

The value of a show multiples for me if it leaves its viewers with a thoughtful message and this series does that at multiple levels. If you love meaningful emotional thrillers with loads of drama topped with hard-hitting realistic take to shake you up and yet enjoy them to the core, this one is for you. A totally entertaining series, it is a must-watch guys, go for it!

If you are wondering what’s the mystery behind the name of the show ‘Code M’, well, I have already given out too much on it and this is for you to dig out yourselves! So what are you waiting for .. check out Code M on ZEE5 and I bet you are gonna love it as much as I did!

7 Tips for Parenting an Introvert

Parenting itself is I believe the most difficult art or science whatever we choose to call it, with no set rule book despite having the maximum amount of written literature around it. It is undoubtedly to each his own. If there is anything that really works as a thumb rule in parenting, it is a mom’s instinct. But still, it is always worthy to share our experiences and gain some wisdom from other moms. I am blessed to be born in times when we moms don’t shy away from sharing what we have learned the hard way. Every kid is different so the parenting style for each one too has to be unique. Still, it is always comfortable to have a vocal or an extrovert child who can express his anger or happiness or myriad other feelings which the kids profess in words and you can easily act accordingly. But if you are a mom to an introvert the game totally changes.

Parenting an introvert is a little tricky and a mind game, it requires a lot of patience and planning as well. Sharing in this posts some tips for parenting an introvert.

Please understand that the introverts don’t lack confidence they are on an average more intelligent and make big in life, they just don’t let their feelings flow out in words that easily😊.

1. Be very patient with introvert kids: Introvert kids do share their hearts with the people they are close to, we just need to be very patient with spending ample amount of time with them to feel comfortable to talk about what’s hidden in the deepest crevices of their heart. Also, when they start speaking try not to interrupt them or direction the talk, if you feel a deep urge to do so, do it only when they are done. In general,  don’t cut them or reply immediately, just let the kids’ words sink in first before reacting or responding.

2. Planning is the key: Along with patience another virtue parents of introverts must practice is sensitivity towards their little precious. Plan small things that give them joy like play dates and aid they open up to their peers. Ensure they play outdoors and attend birthday parties and other family functions. Plan mom’s day out or dad’s day out with them or indulge in their favorite sport with them and share some smiles together. High on a win or weak on a loss, their emotions may just flow out to you along with a few other direct of indirect subtle hints about things you should know about your kid as a parent.

3. Be observant: It is widely believed that actions speak louder than words. Always keep an indirect eye on your introvert kid, sense his discomfort and offer support. Don’t flood him with questions or press the panic button. Stay calm and comfort him and after taking his time he will surely confide in. Give them their space but be aware. Striking a balanced friendship with our tiny tot works wonders too.

4. Take clues: Since your introvert child will never express his likes or dislikes it is important to take clues and respect his opinion which may be different from yours. Sometimes he may be wrong but don’t tell that straight away rather weave it into a story of a boy next door who did a similar thing and how he reaped adverse consequences and leave it there. Your silent child has already absorbed it all.

5. Be involved: All of us, moms, yearn to make our kids independent, however, I feel like Rome was not built in a day this transition too should not happen overnight especially if you have a shy less speaking kid at home. Let him do his work and get involved where you think he is losing track. For some time keep the overall control of things with you and make gaining independence a transient process stretched over a timeline you have set.

6. Take notes: To err is human and as parents, we may go wrong too. Thus maintaining a journal of important points we learned while rearing and grooming our little one definitely comes handy in times when we lose our head and don’t understand how to tackle a super tricky situation. At that time referring to your tips and lessons you have journaled aids you to first attain your calmness and then plan a solution to the problem.

7. Seek help: Sorry for this gender bias,  but a mom is usually the best judge if her kid is simply an introvert or it is something else for which they need help from a psychologist to aid him to untangle the strands of complex emotions he is experiencing. You won’t realize what emotional havoc bullies at school or a bad-tempered teacher can cause to your tender little bud. If your child needs help, don’t shy away from giving it to him. That’s for your as well as his benefit and you will be so happy to eventually see him or her blooming and merry like before.

I hope you can relate to the above... Do share your insights, will so love to read them.

Healthy Eating with Tupperware: Event Coverage

Earnestly, I feel moms of this generation have the toughest jobs at hand. While on one hand they are spoilt for choices with so many mind boggling options decking up the fancy shelves, on the other they have a humongous task of filtering what goes in their kids tummy. On a lighter note, don’t you think our moms’ jobs were easier with lesser options and pure and unadulterated food? Phew!

Anyways for us, the mommas of today, awareness is the key. Thus I skip no chance to stay upbeat in upgrading my knowledge on this topic and so I attended a wonderful meet-up on healthy eating by Tupperware in association with Slurrpfarm and Maxhealthcare last week in Gurgaon. It was undoubtedly a very enriching afternoon and I am so glad I made to it against all odds.

The reason perhaps was my love for this brand, Tupperware which has been a family member for us for over two decades. They talked of food grade plastics eons before people really started digging into the facts. I have always felt so reassured using their products for my little boy, my husband and myself as well as all my storage needs. Initially I bought it from their selling agents and then online but now I am glad to know they have opened 50 retail outlets across the country.

In this event, I also came to know about their new Black Nonstick Cookware Series that comes with the Eterna nonstick coating, which is the longest-lasting non-stick coating in the market and offers superior non-stick surface for easy cooking and cleaning. The hard-anodized aluminum in the Black Series enables superior heat distribution and ensures even and fast cooking. What else can one ask for.

It was a pleasure witnessing Chef Ayesha Nalla Seth roll out a gorgeous banana oat millet crepe for us on it without a drop of oil ghee or butter. Her tips to cook for our little ones came straight from the heart. The ingredients used were from Slurrpfarm, a venture of two moms, to ensure our kids get nothing short of the best. Slurrp Farm has revived the ancient ‘Supergrains’- ragi, jowar, foxtail millets, and have mastered this art, I have been using them for quite some time and their nut powder and jaggery are my all time favorite to appease my picky eater. The thing I love the most about Slurrp Farm is that they have come out with so many quality and healthy snacking products available for us, to battle the issues caused by junk-eating.

Another high for me in the event was the insights from dietician Ritika Samaddar of MaxHealthCare. Her talk on the the fundamentals of eating right and staying healthy and fit was truly worth emulating. Though I always checked the labels of the products we consumed, I can now refine my checking with thumb rules like we must not only consume products which are high in protein and fibre but also it must have sugar content less than 5%. I so am glad she broke the myth around bananas for I love eating it in the morn for that energy punch before hitting the gym.

All fun broke out when we were divided into groups to exhibit our culinary skills and make our masterpiece. Joining in my blogger buddies, Jhilmil, Noor and Preetjyot for making a cheesy Spinach dosa on the Tupperware Black Series Nonstick using Slurrpfarm ingredients was truly a super rocking experience post which we headed for the Tupperware Outlet Visit and oh my how gorgeous it looked in its myriad vibrant colours and options. We ended the event here with some candid discussions about the lovely variety available there.

Earnestly the mum in me was super satiated by the experience, I was super stoked to see how our most favorite brands are coming together to innovate and improve to perfection to ensure we eat healthy and make our motherhood a pleasurable experience. The smiles below speak it all 💚.
