If at all someone asks me what is my greatest takeaway from these lockdown times, I will say, it undoubtedly is my deep inclination towards eating healthy and staying healthy. If you are a regular here you already know how keen I have been in the past three months on watching out my weight as well as my plate. While I am steadily inching towards my ideal weight, I have been very very cautious about what goes in my family’s tummy and I shall ensure that these worthy lifestyle changes stay with us for the rest of our lives. For this, I ensure that what we are eating also satiates our taste buds so that we don’t get bored of it and start drifting once again to the junk food which means trying out new, more delicious and healthy recipes each day with myriad ingredients rich in diverse nutrients essential to ensure our immunity and good health. Many of these recipes are from Dr. Surbhi Prapanna’s worthy ebook known as ‘Healthy Eating for Busy Moms’ and today it’s my pleasure to review this book for all of you. My 5th book too has released in the same ebook carnival by Blogchatter and it is a pleasure being on this precious journey with her.



About The Book 


The ebook is a collection of 26 easy, healthy, tasty and quick recipes (in A2Z format). The recipes are simple and made with easily available-at-home ingredients. Along with healthy recipes, the book also includes health benefits of different cooking ingredients, healthy eating tips and meal prep ideas. This book will help busy moms (and busy individuals) in maintaining a healthy eating pattern even with a hectic lifestyle and a busy schedule.



About the Author 


Dr. Surbhi Prapanna is a homeopathic therapist by profession and a writer and blogger by passion. She has more than 4 years of professional writing experience and her work had been published on various prestigious online platforms like Momspresso.com, kidstoppress.com, cureJoy.com and shivanaspirit.com.

Health, parenting and creative activities for kids (art, crafts, DIYs etc...) are her niche. And she shares her areas of expertise and parenting experience on her blog Surbhiprapanna.com. She has won so many awards for her academic and professional excellence, but won the “Best parent award” is most precious and satisfying experience of her life.

Book Cover and Concept 




I feel there can’t be a more beautiful, colorful and appropriate cover for this book. It displays some of the most nutritious ingredients the super mom author has used in her recipes in the book.


As moms, we women multitask the whole day and still don’t get over the guilt that we fed our little ones all the needed nutrients in the right proportion. This book is a deserving solution to this perennial dilemma of ours. It is a worthy handbook which shares some very quick and super healthy recipes along with the benefits of the ingredients along with some exclusive pro tips.


My Take On The Book 


To me, this handbook is a perfect amalgamation of grandma's traditional healthy food khazaana and modern advancement in food sciences in terms of nutrition which the author has blended together optimally to reinvent some extremely beneficial and drool-worthy recipes. 


The variety she has offered will bowl you over in sheer admiration to her endeavor to help people know some unique recipes definitely worth trying anytime and it is appropriately so as she is a doctor so I believe aiding others comes naturally to her. 


I categorically liked the way she shared the nutritional values and health benefits of each of her recipes beautifully for us to understand why we must have it. 


The ingredients, method, and special tips are impeccably laid along with eye soothing pictures in each chapter enticing you enough to try the recipe at the earliest.


Her recipes like amaranth paranthas, barnyard millet khichdi, or a fenugreek thepla to name a few are not only exotic and super power-packed but certainly a treat to our palettes.


All the recipes are super easy and are a boon to super busy moms like me who though don’t like spending much time in the kitchen but wish to pack sufficient nutrition in the food they serve to their loved ones.


Language and Narration


The language of the book is reader-friendly and balanced to make it a very handy tool for one and all. It can be used by anyone across all age groups, kids may need adult supervision though during cooking on the flame.


The narration is very engaging and feels like someone close to you is teaching you to cook some fabulous dishes so full of health and taste. I keep going back to this book when I run out of ideas and that’s what I feel is the victory of this book.


I wish the author many more such works to bring health and goodness to her readers and all the best for her glorious future.
