#Women #Health & #Fitness Series: 5 Detoxifying Immunity Drinks for Healthy Weight Loss

One grave mistake that Indian women do is taking  utmost care of everyone in their families apart from themselves. As a result both their physical and mental health goes for a toss over a prolonged period of time.

They are ingrained with the chalta hai mentality in matters pertaining to their well being right from their childhood but times are changing now for the good and she has realised if she first takes care of herself and stays fit both mentally and physically, she will be in a better position to take care or her family appropriately. 

This is mental health awareness month and I feel our mental well-being depends a lot on our state of physical well being. When I suffered from endometriosis for over a decade, I felt so low mentally, wept in silence and asked God to give me death over the excruciating perennial pain. Today I feel it was how so naive of me, I suffered for the wrong diagnosis by someone else and gave away my peace and happiness. Today, I am in a much better zone taking matters pertaining to my health in my own hands and trust me I am doing better. To create awareness, in my women health series,  I have written on, 

and today I foray into fitness because our strong fitness is our natural gaurd towards all diseases. 

A strong immunity is a need of the hour along with ideal weight if we are far away from it. In these testing times when we are confined inside our homes due the fear of the pandemic, things in our kitchen can help us loose weight in a healthy manner without any fad diets and give us the desired fitness level. 

The first step towards healthy weight loss is detoxifying your body of all the toxins entrapped in it. In this post, I share the recipes of 5 such natural detoxifying health drinks for ourselves and our body which has a magical impact on our gut and also strengthen our immune system along with bringing about healthy weight loss. 

You need only a few minutes to make any of these and all the ingredients are available in your kitchen. 

Always remember water is the zero cost magic potion our body needs and if you can infuse this water with natural herbs and traditional Indian spices even Ayurveda has recommended, you are doubling the magical effect.

🌟Asafoetida-cumin seeds Infused Health drink( Hing-Jeera drink): I begin my day with this without fail. All I do is take two glasses of water and add a pinch of asafoetida and half a teaspoon of cumin seeds and boil it for five minutes. Then strain it and consume it lukewarm. Both of these aid digestion and reduce bloating and are superfoods for our guts. Cumin seeds are also rich in iron and may help in a lot or health conditions like diabetes and to lower cholesterol. I keep sipping it between my morning workouts too and it tastes good. 

🌟Ginger turmeric lemon infused herbal tea: in mid morning, around 11:30 a.m. I take this divine tea which is full of healing properties. It works wonders as it has anti inflammatory properties and abundant vitamin C. When you are done with your work, grab a mug of it and relax, I bet you will feel so refreshed. To make this boil half a inch of grated ginger and grated raw turmeric in two big cups of water and boil till water is reduced to half. Strain it and add lemon juice. It is a super immunity booster drink and don’t forget to give it to your entire family.

🌟Carom and Fennel Seeds, Cinnamon Infused Health Drink(ajwain-saunf-daalchini super health drink: Half an hour post my lunch and dinner I drink a mug full of this health drink because carom seeds have powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties and fennel seeds relieve water retention, constipation and indigestion. Cinnamon too is a power herb which aids healthy weight loss. To make this homemade health drink, boil half a teaspoon of ajwain or carom seeds and half tea spoon of saunf or fennel seeds with a stick of cinnamon in 1 glass of water for 5 minutes and strain it. Consume it lukewarm.

🌟 Fresh Wheatgrass Juice is a power drink: Wheatgrass is very high in Nutrients and Antioxidants and makes a super impactful detoxifying drink for weight loss too. You can make it fresh or buy it as concentrated wheat grass juice or powder available in several medical or grocery stores. Ideally have it early morn to have best results. Being stranded here in Vadodara I could only get a packet of its powder from Big Basket  and make a juice every morn by mixing one big teaspoon with a glass of lukewarm warm in a mixer. Juice made from fresh wheatgrass shall be the best. 

🌟 Lemon Honey Holy Basil (Tulsi)  Health drink: There are times of a day when all of us feel drained and lack energy, some may even experience low blood pressure symptoms. For such times, boil 4-5 tulsi leaves in water, then as it cools add lemon juice and a tea spoon of honey. You will feel an instant lift. Lemon is extremely rich in Vitamin C and honey has natural antibacterial properties while tulsi aids in Respiratory Ailments and may relieve symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, colds, congestion, coughs, flu, sinusitis, sore throat, and similar ailments.

Apart from these put some cucumber lemon slices and mint leaves in the water you drink and let them be there for a couple of hours. Have this flavoured refreshing water rather than just having it plain for all its numerous health benefits. Fill them in a good water bottle from a trustable company like Vaya and keep sipping them the entire day. 

Consumption of the above will ensure you have your mandatory 8-10 glasses of water per day and not only are all the toxins removed, your body will experience a super boost in its immunity and energy. Cleansing your body with the above will bring along healthy weight loss and increase in your strength. Overall you will feel much more happier and healthier which will further ensure your sound mental health.
