Hello Folks!
Life has throughout been a Roller-Coaster for me and I am Destiny's Chosen Child Chosen by the Supreme Almighty to be tested over and over again.But I was always self-motivated and never gave up easily..Till date I drive inspiration from almost everything like from the awesome #StartANewLife initiative by Housing.com and their lovely video below that motivates each one of us to always Look Up:
Today, I have chosen to share with you , the most challenging yet significant chapter of my life which brought a paradigm shift in the way I perceived life and I trust it is definitely worth an expression straight from the heart...
Being born to a honest banker , I was quite an adaptable child, who virtually lived out of her packed bags...This situation made me loose my best friends almost every couple of years but in turn gave me an edge over my peers...Every city, every state I lived in , every school I studied in taught me something...I never realized this situation was giving birth to a fighter in me...
It was my High School that year, and my dad was posted in a very small town in Northern India that had only one good English medium school and that too up to class 10....So this year was extremely crucial for me...For I have to secure a very good percentage to get admission in the school of the choice, on merit basis...I was extremely focused and goal oriented...I left no stone un-turned to give my best shot..My teachers too trusted that I will break all earlier records of the school...I was confident but not over confident and in accordance to my hard-work , my exams went really well...
But had everything happened as per our wishes, no one would have ever believed in the Power of God...Results came and all my dreams were shattered in one go...I had secured only 48 marks in social science when i expected 95 atleast...means a 10% drop in my percentage straight away...Heaven fell on me...My dad was heartbroken too for he knew he can't afford a paid seat for me in any of the colleges he wishes to enroll me...Definitely we applied for a scrutiny and filed a case in the Allahabad High Court but the entire proceedings were to take about 3 months by the time the seats in all good schools would be full...
This was the day the fighter in me came alive and was at it's strongest...I denied to give up...I applied to all colleges which required a minimum percentage and a written test to get admissions..My trust on myself was at it's peak...Got a all from few Intermediate schools and colleges including Birla Balika Vidyapeeth , Pilani...I did not want to loose the opportunity and traveled all the ways to Rajasthan and got selected in the 2 seats reserved for Meritorious Students whose fees was highly subsidized...
But my parents were scared to send me so far off alone and did not consent for the same...But I really wanted to...I wanted to lay the right foundation to be able to fulfill my ambitions...So I put my foot down...Literally debated with my parents for hours to convince them...Finally they gave up and gave a nod to the biggest decision of my life...
This was undoubtedly the #StartofaNewLife for me for my education at Birlas absolutely shaped up my personality...From a small town shy Bookworm girl to an expressive , all rounder personality (My High school revised marksheet with a 10% increase has also arrived by then though)...Life wasn't easy there as I was between the extremely rich elite, But I learnt to take pride in who I was and from where I have risen....and to where I have to go...Never once I let any complex creep in...and as I rose to be Pilani Topper, life became quite a cake-walk in many ways...Nevertheless,I never gave up working hard and stayed focussed towards my goals... I now knew how to live on my own...I soon graduated to become an automobile engineer and thereafter had a wonderful 10 years of career in Tata Motors, Honda Siel Cars and IKEA..When I look back today, I feel satisfied that I took the plunge in the right direction. at the right time which gave a perfect start to my new satiating life..
My sincere gratitude to Team housing.com for conferring on me the opportunity to pour out my #StartofaNewLife Story. I really have deep regards for their #Lookup Initiative which is spreading Optimism all around....
A change is never easy friends for the inertia always pulls you back..But my only advice to you is be optimistic and march ahead to fulfill your dreams...The path may not seem easy, but worth trodding...So Shun all inhibitions for change is the only constant in our lives and START A NEW LIFE!!
