With open arms, I welcome the changing times and am bowled over in sheer admiration to how we, the otherwise old-fashioned conservative Indians, are breaking free from the clutches of forever concealing our thoughts deep in our hearts and seeking right companionship. Our evolution undoubtedly has been phenomenal. From just about a decade ago where most Indians only studied to either become and engineer or a doctor, today we embrace entrepreneurship and have the guts to convert our passion to our profession. We are clear with our goals and the risks associated with them and are ready to leave no stone unturned to make our dreams come true. The same paradigm shift is witnessed in our personal relationships too where we the educated, urban professionals, are pretty clear on what kind of a partner we desire. It has risen beyond looks for us, we look for substance, for intellectual for a certain skill set that makes him or her an ideal match for us. OkCupid is one such very successful, Newyork based, international online dating App which aids us make meaningful connections all over the world for over a decade, actually for 14 years now. Don’t believe me? Well, I didn’t either. Until I signed up and discovered its unique features which sets it apart. No wonder at the moment, this dating App, facilitates over 2 million connections in 113 countries every week, yes, every week. I can really understand why 57,000,000 daters have used #OkCupid since its inception in 2004. When I signed up it has literally asked me umpteen questions to enrich its machine based but deep and profound algorithms to get further refined in their search to recommend me a companion, a date, nearest to the traits I desire.

It’s sorted and exhaustive questions with respect to your acceptances, desires and choices were so fun and quirky to answer; I discovered several hidden layers to myself as we Indian girls are always taught to keep them suppressed, so we actually forget that they even exist. Though OkCupid Dating App India has been there for quite a few years now, its growth has mostly been organic so far, but now having refreshingly tweaked itself, to suit Indian needs further, it is seeking expansion which indeed is a blessing in disguise for us, shy Indians, who further retrieve into their shells when it comes to finding true love. Coming back to the questions, I really loved answering quite a few of them like are you seeking a normal or a weird companion? Well, I have been a weirdo for most of my life but I had never realised I would actually like my partner to be weird too (Grin!) apart from he being an intellectual, which is mandatory for me. Episodes I loved from ‘Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya’

Love for me is the most beautiful feeling on this earth. No points for guessing I am a diehard romantic. While love stories are undeniably my favorite genre to read, even when it comes to writing I guess most of my articles and poetic compositions and even two of my published books all revolve around this most wonderful human emotion. Also, when it comes to cinema or television, I am attracted to programs based on love stories like a magnet attracts metal. Thus, one of my all-time favorite shows which I can watch at any hour of the day is PYAAR TUNE KYA KIYA.

The best thing about this show is the immense variety of love stories. There is a new one in each episode which entertains you with a plethora of human emotions while simultaneously stimulating your thought process. In today’s fast-paced world, relationships are losing their meaning, and the young generation often finds themselves confused at the crossroads of life. In this show, we get to visualize many such complex situations. Since I am a writer myself and love to weave fiction around the brutal realities of life and watch PYAAR TUNE KYA KIYA for the remarkably impressive piece of writing it is. So, now that you know why I like PTKK, here’s a list of some of my personal favorite love stories from PTKK.

Season 8, Episode 2: This is a story of a gorgeous damsel Niharika whose mom fixes her match with an eligible bachelor Veer. Wanting to know more about Veer, she secretly pulls out his number from her mom’s phone and connects with him. The more she knows him, the more she falls deeply in love with him and so does he, until the truth comes before her. The guy she has been dating is not Veer but a wrong number she had dialed. Whom will she choose to be her life partner is the big decision she has to make? On one side, she doesn’t want to disappoint her mom, her only parent alive and on the other side, she wanted to spend her life with the guy she loved and thought was Veer. Actually, nothing is right or wrong, just one lacks the courage to be able to take sides at such a tender age, and I really loved Niharika’s stand in the episode.

Season 8, Episode 3: This one’s a must watch for those who are fans of love triangles. Reyansh and Aarav are best friends. While Reyansh is a musician and son of a rich businessman, Aarav is more goal driven. Since Reyansh’s dad disapproved his relationship with his music guru’s daughter Neha, he plants Aarav to create misunderstanding between them. Reyansh is sent out to another city while Aarav spends a lot of time with Neha and helps her settle in Mumbai and also falls in love with her. Now, whom do you think Neha will choose when Reyansh returns. I was stunned by Neha’s approach in final decision making, and like I said before there is nothing right or wrong, it’s just a matter of perspective!

Season 8, Episode 5: This is the central theme address through three lovely characters Alvira, Arjun and Sameer in this episode. Alvira a non-conventional looking girl has strong feelings for their college heartthrob musician Arjun who rejects her. Sameer is Arjun’s bestie and his lyric writer who accidentally begins chatting with Alvira posing as Arjun and over a period of time they fall in love with each other. When Alvira finds out, what do you think she would do? A strong story on body-shaming and how a woman’s size and appearance matters made me connect so much to it and oh my what a beautiful ending! You will really root for the characters in the episode and discover how true love is victorious despite all odds.
