Inculcating the right ATTITUDE in our Daughters #WomenEmpowerment

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers
women empowerment

I am a normal human being. I am a woman. I feel empowered because many years ago, another woman on my birth, pledged to instill the right attitude in her daughter, right from her birth. Yes, she was my mum, at a mere age of 4 years she ripped me apart from her lap and sent me to my maternal grandparents place so that I can get a good education. For she understood that it is sound education that will enable me to stand on my own feet and become both financially and socially independent. She made me a fearless tigress and for that, I can never be grateful enough to her. Of so many things that went wrong around us, my attitude was one right thing she never let me give up. In 2006 before she left for heavenly abode the last promise she took from me was that no matter how adverse the circumstances become I will never give up my economic independence. So every day I try to live up to that promise and also in my very small ways enable others too to stand on their own feet.

My Mom

Today I really wanted to write about what I have grown up to believe and what I practice and preach very rigorously. You would have often read me or heard me saying ‘Empowered  Women Empower Women’, now this is not a slogan for a dharna that we sit on for Women Empowerment, neither is it a publicity gimmick of political leaders, it simply means that charity begins at home. How can we empower all the women of the world..by each one of us ensuring that the women in their own home feel empowered? They have a say in the decision-making process of the family. They can raise their voice for themselves and can follow their dreams.

How do we do it? As a mum, or an aunt or a grandparent or even a dad, we must ensure that we are inculcating the right attitude in our daughters from day1. Allow them to dream, support them to inch closer to their dreams, equip them with tools to soar higher and higher towards their goals, teach them never say die attitude. Give them the killer instinct.

Don’t tell them you are a girl, sit properly, talk properly, be home before it gets dark, learn to cook, etc. Instead, enroll your kids in self-defense sessions like Karate, etc and teach them how to identify and act on bad touch. Sad to say most often it’s we who teach our children gender bias. When your daughter wants to invite only girls to her birthday party or your son only boys, don’t support it rather guide their thoughts in a gender-neutral direction in a strong way. Teach them that apart from the biological difference there is nothing that makes a girl weaker than a boy or vice versa. Let them learn to grow, play and study together.

Simultaneously if we are a mum to a son, we do exactly the same. It has taken me crazy efforts to make my son believe that all boys and girls are equal. It is good to know that he spoke to the sports teacher when he had asked boys to play football and girls to play kabaddi..requesting him to let everyone make a choice which game they want to play and that was because one girl in his class really wanted to play football. He is the same child who has some months ago told me that his male friends have told him that they will not play with him if he will borrow a notebook from a girl and I had to actually sit with him to make him understand and sink gender equality in his brain.

So I reiterate that in order to empower every single girl of India we have to imbibe in them gender equality values right from their birth and stand behind their dreams like a firm rock exactly like we do behind our sons, as they sail closer to their dreams. I know the change is happening, but let’s join hands and propel the speed and contribute to in our own small ways. Above all give them the attitude to dream high and leave no stone unturned to fulfill their dreams at all costs. No sacrifices pls!

I am proud of the way Sangeeta Boochra, Silver Centrre, the leading jewellery brand (now in Bengaluru) is contributing to Women Empowerment

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

I am an ardent jewellery lover and have a fetish for exquisite timeless traditional pieces. The one I choose to adorn speaks volumes about me and is symbolic of my carefully chosen style statement. I pick my jewellery based on my mood and precious and semi-precious stone studded in sterling silver appease my heart like nothing else. I also like the fusion designs where the contemporary merges with some exotic.

I have a crazy collection of some of the best pieces quite a few of which are from one of my most favourite Designer Sangeeta Boochra of Silver Centrre, Jaipur. They are the real pioneers of designer silver jewellery in India and are also responsible for putting it impressively on the global map. Their roots date back to 1897 and today they are the most well known and trusted brand amongst the Celebrities, Influencers , Stylists and the fashion addicts all over the globe. Being from Jaipur is it understood they bring great talent of the traditional experts behind the intricate, unique and adorable designs and I really love them all to the extent that every piece that I have bought for gifting, I have eventually ended up retaining it myself especially the jhumkees.

..And Voila! The great news is that this Global Jewellery Brand has just launched their new store in Bengaluru. Its opening was as humongous an event as the store itself. The place was studded with grandeur and ecstatic delight for the jewellery lovers who fell in love with the mesmerising designs as was evident from the smiles on their faces and the sheen on their temples. If you too want to pamper the fashionista in you and grab some of the finest pieces of designer jewellery, you may as well visit this store located on Kamaraj Road (image below).

Well, there is another reason I am a diehard fan of theirs and it undoubtedly is there worth emulating, functioning model. You will find it hard to believe that the designer Sangeeta Boochra herself visits the craftsman and artisans in their remotest village and recruits them to create masterpieces for her but the twist in the tale is that these artisans don’t have to travel to work to the 3 factories located in Jaipur, on the contrary, they are supplied raw materials in their homes, where the quality inspector validates their quality and the final products get picked from them.

This is ideal for the women residing in the villages who are gradually attaining economic independence through this. Isn’t it a real vital attempt in the right direction for Women Empowerment as financial independence lays the foundation for a person to be able to raise a voice against the oppression? Kudos to this thought process of the owners of the prestigious Silver Centrre chain.

Now I have double the reason to pick these gorgeous beauties from Sangeeta Boochra to my heart’s content. I have shared a lot of pictures of their designs suitable for both Indian and western wear, in this post. I am sure by now you too would have fallen in love with them as much as I had and Bengulurians you had all the reason to rejoice with this new store. What? You need address of the same. Here it is for you, go grab your favourite jewellery now ♥

Theme Reveal Global #AtoZChallenge 2019: Women Empowerment

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers
women empowerment

Hey Friends this is my fourth consecutive year at the coveted global ‘April to Z Challenge’ and though I am rejoicing and soaking myself in the pleasure of this grandest festival of writers or bloggers of all around the world like always, I was still in two minds just until a little while ago because April looks packed from multiple dimensions with the kiddo’s exams being my top priority and also it being the peak load month for my academy. But there is something that is pushing me hard not to give up this ritual for a purpose, I have been following against all odds for the last 3 years and so here I am announcing my participation to you all. Earnestly, it has been difficult each time but I had always pulled it through by the grace of Almighty. So sending out a prayer for best wishes to the universe, here I once again take the plunge.

When writing is like breathing to me why not write and so breathe and live for a purpose. How can I forget, the last 3, A to Z challenges have given me my three published books. It is a beautiful experience who only those who have taken a real dip into, experience and I have already been three times lucky so far. So without further adieu here I am announcing my theme for the esteemed challenge. Ladies and gentleman, hold your breath, I am ecstatic to share that once again this year, I am penning on the topic closest to my heart, ‘Women Empowerment’.

All through April, you will get to hear from me true stories of real women around you..you will witness yourself in many of them, admire them and relate to all of them for sure. You will also get to hear beautiful takes on how empowered women empower women.

The purpose of this theme is not to fight any war against men but because I strongly believe that this world will undoubtedly become a better place to live in if we eradicate all crimes against women. It is my tiny contribution in waiting for the day when my child will not be told in the school or playground that he/she has to follow a certain behavior or protocol because of his/her gender when girls will play football and boys will be taught Indian classical dance forms.

Gender inequality is the fungus of our society and until we empower women from all social strata to become both financially and emotionally independent, we won’t progress the desired way. The goals are truly doable, just each one of us has to contribute in our own way. I trust all of you are with me on this. I may sound like a furious activist but we got to think people...

Please feel free to ask me as many questions as you want on the topic and I will be more than happy to help. Also if you yourself have a tale to tell pls feel free to DM me the same and I will love to feature you or keep you anonymous in enlightening the world with your story, whichever way you wish to.

Remember Women Empowerment is all about enabling a woman to stand up for herself, to be her own voice against the patriarchal society and break free from the shackles of long oppression she has faced. All she needs is a little ray of hope to hold on to reach the zenith of success. Are you ready to be that ray of hope?

Baby colic - what it is, why it happens and what best you can do to relieve it?

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers
colic

Colic is a monster which scares quite a few moms and more so the new moms who panic seeing their otherwise perfectly playful and happy child wailing inconsolably for hours every day around the same time. I know how it feels, have been there, know it all and trust me it is much more nerve-wracking than how it sounds here and many devastated new mums and dads rush to the Paediatricians over and over again to find a solution or for the diagnosis of an underlying medical condition. But as a mom, based on my own experience, I believe that it just needs symptomatic relief and goes away as the baby grows up.

One of five babies suffers from colic. The cause of colic is widely believed to be stomach related. A colicky baby cries very bitterly because of a tummy ache caused by a gastric condition, constipation, indigestion or acidity. This lasts for a few hours and leaves both the infant and the primary care giver thoroughly distressed and drained

To help parents cope with this kind of a physical and emotional upheaval with their new born, #MotherSparsh has come up with a #100%Ayurvedic#TummyRollOn to soothe the little precious’ tummy and relieve his/her pain.

It is a revolutionary product in my eyes and it based on a #TraditionalHomeRemedy

The main ingredients of this #MotherSparshRollOn are Hing Oil, Pudina Oil, Sonth Oil, Saunf Oil and Sova Oil. All the 5 ingredients have selective medicinal properties which are instrumental in giving the baby #ColicRelief. You just need to apply it around the naval area to get back your #HappyBaby. You will recall how traditionally our moms used their indigenous #HingRollon (warmed hingwrapped in a cloth) to soothe our Tommy aches. Mother Sparsh brings the same Sparsh of a mother to this vital product with many more additional benefits aiming at#ColicfreeBaby.

2.Chemical free: I need not worry about the side effects the Chemicals used in the product will have on my little peanut as it does not have any chemical at all.

3.Infant’s skin friendly: We all know that how sensitive an infant’s skin is, using a totally natural and toxins free product like Mother Sparsh tummy roll onensures no allergic reactions to the little one’s skin.

4.Handy and user-friendly product: Sometimes trying to comfort a colicky baby can get on your nerves and you might find it difficult to put him down, that’s the time this roll on kept on the side table can be immediately applied and let the baby relax.

Empowered Women Empower Women

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

I  commenced my career in 2003 and after globe-trotting for around a decade in 3 jobs at Tata Motors, Honda Siel Cars India and Ikea of Sweden which enriched me immensely, I decided to tread the entrepreneurial path, while simultaneously embracing the maternal bliss.

Ever since I was tiny, I had passionately accepted and worked on my love for writing and public speaking though I had no clue I will end up making them my profession but with time I realized they were my true calling. I decided to take up my so far a hobby of grooming six to sixty-year-olds especially women in a professional way and co-founded my communication skills academy. Around the same time in 2011, I bought a home for myself on the web, my blog, Truly Your Roma, a place where I can be the voice of the long-oppressed Indian women.

It was a paradigm shift for me from Corporate to the literary and creative world but I enjoyed it every way. Though it didn’t pay me as handsomely as my job, the kind of satisfaction I got what truly out of the world. It got me addicted and I left no stone unturned to better myself in the craft. I not only groomed children and adults in my academy but also in orphanages, women shelters, old age homes or wherever I got the opportunity. Karma has always been high on my mind.

With time I evolved, honed and polished my skills and also authored three different books of three different genres all fundamentally on Women Empowerment, which received genuinely worthy reviews. Two highs of my entrepreneurial journey were being felicitated with Woman of the Year Award in 2015 and Planet’s Pride Awards 2018 which made it sure that I was sailing in the right direction

Of course, I have had my gloomy moments and bad days but I have sailed through sometimes soaking my pain in my writings while on other occasions forgetting it in my back to back sessions with my students.

I love my work, it is my heart, it is my identity, I am so proud being a full-time coach, author, and blogger and touching as many lives as possible means the world to me. Every day I get up to work with the same zeal and enthusiasm and in the process also get to learn so much new, like yesterday I in invited by Seamedu School of Pro-Expressionism, Pune for a shoot of a special interview for a purpose. This invite was extra special to me for the discussion was on a topic closest to my heart, a cause with which I deeply associate myself with and which is also one of the major goals of my academy and my 3 books released so far(the video is currently on the editing table, will be sharing it with you all soon).

How I believe ‘Women Empowerment’ should be the key global agenda of present times. So, what is ‘Women Empowerment’? Let me quickly touch upon it for you. Women Empowerment is enabling women to stand for themselves, be their own voice against what they have suffered for generations and still are. It is about breaking the shackles of patriarchy around them and become financially and emotionally self-reliant. Women empowerment is about uplifting women to the level that they can contribute to all the decisions with equal right. Gender Equality is the eventual goal for Women Empowerment. God didn’t create this inequality it’s we who have created this mess and it’s we who have to clean it. Apart from a revolutionary change desired in the thought process of society, I have always firmly believed that EMPOWERED WOMEN EMPOWER WOMEN. It's we who can be the face of positive change, think about it women, be the ray of hope to the women in need next to you and it will mean the world to her. To me, it feels the journey has just begun and I have miles to go before I sleep..more on this in my next post on the subject ♥️
