Unity Run, A Worthy Run with a Precious Purpose

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

We Did It!
Voila! Yesterday was a landmark day of my life. Yes, it was special and indeed significant because yesterday I completed my first ever marathon, a 5 km long Unity Run. It marked an end of years long slumber of being physically inactive and brought back fond memories of the old fitness-freak me. It’s not that I didn’t have chances before but there was something truly special about this run which made me make it despite of having a terribly hectic weekend and you would know the reason in just a little while for I am as keen to share it with you as you are to know.

Mommy-Sonny Duo flaunting their medals over a giggle

My heart is elated to witness that we are in an era of mass awakening among the Indian Citizens or to say the least we are taking firm right steps in the right direction. One such profound step is a worthy initiative known as ‘Unity Run’ which is taking place in Park Street, Wakad for the past three years, it’s a unique one of its kind run with two distinguished worthy purposes every Park Streetian is proud off. Here’s a candid take on the same about how it strikes chord with anyone who wishes to do his tiny bit for his motherland.

What an Inspiration!

Three years ago inspired by the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility, a bunch of conscious humanitarians decided to take it a notch further to individual and society’s social responsibility and founded ‘Street To Life’, with a solemn aim of impacting positively the life of the less privileged like our house helps, drivers, society workers or any other needy whom them can impact in their calibre.

Hats Off!

Impressed by their fantastic initiative and inundated efforts, the apex body of Park Street (a premium township in Wakad, Pune) joined hands with them and imparted a new focused vigour to the wonderful program. The two together also came forward with the concept of hosting a ‘Unity Run’ with a dual purpose. While one was to unite and weave and unite together the members of Sapphire, Turquoise, Titanium, Diamond, Topaz and Ivory Parks situated within the township through a special marathon, the second was to give this union a meaning, a purpose which fills the heart of everyone contributing with great zeal, enthusiasm and contentment and this purpose was charity for the right cause from all the collected money. Their earnest dreams were soon materialised and the outcomes were really glorifying and heart-warming.

Little Angels

In the first year of its conceptualisation in twenty sixteen, the sum collected through Unity Run was used to quench the agony of the Latur region inhabitants who were then reeling under devastating floods under the Green Marathwada initiative. It is an absolute delight to share that steps like de-silting of rivers beds and planting of 5000 trees brought forth some welcome respite to them.

Enjoyed it thoroughly....

In its next year, i.e. twenty seventeen Unity Run became a boon to the underprivileged kids of the Park Street’s Staff. The sum collected was utilised for infrastructural development of a school for these tiny tots who had big dreams in their eyes but no means to attain them. The STL team’s efforts in revamping, furnishing, and restoring a hall in the school to set up a ‘Centre of Excellence’, housing an e-learning centre and a computer lab are indeed an example to the mankind and many volunteers always take time out from their busy schedules, to conduct regular classes for the students there. Well, they have proved if drops make ocean, they have so far succeeded in making a river of their efforts which sure would culminate into an ocean soon.

A warm up Zumba Session before the run

Talking of rivers, in it’s third year Unity Run has acquired another inspirational purpose this year which is ‘Save our Rivers’ aiming to do its bit for the ‘Rally For Rivers’ initiative of Isha Foundation. The core team has identified a stretch of 1 km for planting trees by the Mula River in Vishal Nagar which unfortunately today is a dump yard for architectural wastes... working meticulously around the principle that the only way to save our rivers is maintaining a dense tree cover on either side. The highly focused result oriented teams have already chalked out a thorough plan to clean up this stretch, level it and plant it with trees, and put lights and benches in to create a gorgeous green walkway and rest area – a pocket of pristine solace and serene clean air in the midst of the fast paced and polluted city life, a crucial step again in the right direction. They embark on the implementation real soon.

A set of impressive volunteers who made it happen!
While we wish them a great success in all their future endeavours with a deep heartfelt round of applause, we truly pray that they awaken the conscience of many many more Samaritans our mother nation needs currently through leading by example. Amen!

Well, like I mentioned above, Truly Yours Roma had the honour of participating in the Unity Run this year and we did complete our 5 km marathon( Yes, fitness eludes me for a while now but the cause behind made me do it, hurray!), words fail me to express what an overwhelming feeling it was to run in a teaming crowd of 1500 smiles all motivating each other and offering a helping hand setting a lovely example of humanity and another 5-7K surrounding us in bitter cold to cheer us up. This number is only set to soar from here...and am absolutely proud of it!

I am proud, so proud to be yours (The Tale of Unearthed Letters)

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

True that love is immortal
untouched by time

but time does have one power
to lay fresher layers of memories over the older ones

yesterday wrapped in your newer memories
as our old closet I cleaned

down came a bundle of letters
that you have written to me

they were so many
not in chronological order any

my heart skipped a beat
as I picked up the first one to read

exactly like it did then
When you gave me the first one

next many hours
I savoured and caressed them with my tears

the tears of happiness
to read my man of a few words

your infinite love that you seldom express
Your promises, your passion, your desires

how we wrote to each other what we could not speak
despite of sitting on adjacent seats

the naughty you who pulled my leg
for distracting you from the back bench

those carefree college days
those secret meeting places

those kisses and hugs
and with my fingers your perennial love affair

made me still turn red..
like during our first night, on the creaky bed..

as I soaked myself in the pleasure of this treasure
I intermittently crying and smiling, relived our beautiful journey

only wished you could be here
and pull me closer in your deepest hug

there was so much that could have pulled us apart
but beating all odds together we have made our mark

you have proved yourself
and kept all the promises you have made

made my life a bed of roses
with your love, warmth and care

I don’t know if in return I did my due
or did I fulfil your wishes true

All I know is I still love you the most like I always did
to me you are God’s greatest gift

I still feel the safest in your arms
and a slightest fear to loose you kills me a million times

Thank you for being mine forever
I am proud, so proud to be yours

When I Unearthed The Secret For Perennial Beauty And Health The #Evion Way

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, well so true but we have to take care of that beauty, nurture it and prevent it from deteriorating so that we enthral that beholder with how well we have maintained our health which is reflected in our healthy skin, our healthy hair and overall a healthy us😊.

This is perhaps the greatest lesson I have learnt in my thirties when a visit to the gynaecologist for aggravated painful PMS symptoms made her put me on a great vitamin E supplement #Evion to treat the Hormonal Imbalance she suspected to be the cause. To my surprise in just a few months not only did I feel better during my menstrual cycles but also my skin and hair felt more nourished and healthier almost like when I was in my teens. The dullness and the non-typically morosely feeling me gave way to the old forever chirpy, smiling and giggling Roma.

Woohoo! I have unknowingly unearthed the secret of timeless beauty and good health.

This is when my perennial love affair with vitamin E began. Though eating right and sleeping tight has always been my mantra, it was time to take the next step forward. I became meticulous in my health regime and found great solace in my culinary escapades trying to invent and reinvent dishes power-packed with Vitamin E which also satiated the taste buds of me and my foodie family alike (quite a paradigm shift for someone like me who never enjoyed cooking). My favourite Vitamin E rich food sources are corn, bell peppers, spinach, avocado, olive oil, tomatoes, pumpkin, almonds and a few more and I love working in permutations and combinations with them to make some exotic salads and curries as per the mood in the household particularly mine(Grin!!). A personal favourite, quick, easy super-recipe is my version of Indian Thai Curry loaded with Vitamin E.

To make it, all you got to do is first chop some bell peppers red, yellow and green and put together some broccoli and corn. In a pan add 1 teaspoon of olive oil, crackle with some oregano. Sauté the same with onions, red, yellow, green bell peppers, to this add half boiled broccoli and corns. Sautéing for 2-3 minutes are enough to retain the maximum nutritive values of the veggies. In another pan boil some spinach leaves with minimal water so that we need not drain it later. Cool and transfer it to a mixer, add some green chilli, ginger and  2-3 garlic cloves to it and grind. Similarly make fresh tomato purée. When the same it ready, it’s time for us to do the final bit.

Pic for representative purpose only
Get all the semi-cooked ingredients together. In a pan hear little olive oil. All tomato purée first, cook till it starts leaving oil, then add spinach purée, cook at simmer for about 5 minutes till boil comes and switch off the burner, add semi cooked veggies and add salt, black pepper and powdered almonds(if your child is a fussy eater like mine we got to hide nuts like this) and few drops of lemon and my Indian version of Thai Curry loaded with vitamin E is ready to tantalise your taste buds. Isn’t it really easy and can be had with either rice or noodles. If you are a non vegetarian you can add shrimps to it. This is just one of the examples, you can do your own trials and discover a vitamin E enriched culinary delight for your loved ones, to boost muscle strength, hormonal balance, proper functioning of certain vital organs and of course a glowing skin and healthy hair.

This diet plus a homemade face-pack containing #Evion supplement(cut and remove the gel in a small bowl) mixed with lemon juice and rosewater once or twice a week, works wonders for my pollution-sick, stressed skin and the same supplement mixed with coconut oil for my hair is a boon to my hair.

You may also use India’s most trusted #Evion Vitamin E supplements if you feel in everyday hustle bustle of life, you are missing on a proper balanced diet or if you feel tired and dull easily or are facing skin, hair problems or muscle soreness but preferably after consulting a doctor.

Truly Yours Roma can vouch for them for they helped me unearth the secret of perennial beauty and good health..trust you find them equally worthy to rid you of your problems!

When I Will Be Gone...

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

I need to tell u this my one
when I will be gone

I don’t want to drip
down your eyes like tears

promise me you’ll rather keep me alive
in your beautiful smiles

missing me
you won’t ever cry

and make me shine
in the twinkle of your eyes

only my body will be gone
but in your heart, my heart will beat

you will hear me in the rhythm of your soul
every heartbeat of yours will profess to you my immortal love

you will feel my fingers
running down in your hair

 whenever you will be stressed
you will feel that I am right there for you with my warm embrace

just close your eyes
and let your heart melt with the memories of our precious times

those butterfly kisses
those love notes we whispered in each other’s ears

In the air you will breathe
my presence, my fragrance

for ours is not the kind of love
where life and death have a say..

will wait for you on the other side of the fence
to be united with you my soul in the next birth💖

.....And I Remain Your Silhouette Forever And Ever💓💕💖

He has to correct his mistake by sending you on earth with me, as it’s solution worthy

You are my confidence on which I ride high
Thank you for showing all the patience to my weird ways of life

Chalk and cheese are we, but so well adapted to each other’s needs
I am the cream if you are coffee

Separated we don’t exist
Togetherness is our identity

So today in your birthday I gift you this
A promise of togetherness across ages

May you rise and shine all the more my love
and I remain your silhouette forever and ever..

This New Year I resolve to Gift My Family Something Special

Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers
I have often wondered why children of current generation are delicate darlings and not rough and tough kids as we were. May be their upbringing by us is at blame for their in general weaker immunity or probably our failure to give them pure unadulterated nourishment so that they grow healthy and strong.

I know every mom will agree with me that we now a days almost perennially fret over where to get unadulterated food items for our family on a regular basis. What guarantee do we have that the Food item embossed with a organic food stamp is genuinely grown without chemical intervention.

Sometimes I sulk seeing perishable vegetables in my refrigerator lying non rotten even after a fortnight. What preservatives have they been sprayed with? While my mommy taught me to consume most fruits and veggies with their skin on for their nutritive values, for my own kiddo I like to peel off the wax smooth bright ones. Doubting has almost become a habit for me now and I am most often seen perturbed with what the label of a product says and what it actually offers. Mr. husband is so pissed off with my research that he has even contemplated abandoning me at the grocers supermarket until I am satiated with the quality check of the products I purchase.

Phew! I wish a wasted weekend over the above would ensure I got the genuine supply of month long food essentials and I would most happily do that. To add the the woes are everyday revelations on news channels about food contamination and their negative impact on ours and our loved ones health. The unhealthy accusation game among competitors further leaves the innocent consumer baffled. What and whom to trust? What to eat what not? At least the roti we eat of the three most basic essentials of human beings, roti, kapada and makaan (bread, clothing and housing) should be available to us in the purest unadulterated form as the Hindi idiom goes - Jaan Hai To Jahaan  Hai!

Gone are the days when mom bought grains from farmers, washed them herself, left them to dry and then tucked me along to the chakki to get pure genuine aata for her spouse and children. Today in our fast paced life managing both office and home plus not having the right eye to judge the right grain quality, I can no way rely on the above and have stuck to what my paarkhi mom eventually took to in the later years, the pure and genuine Aashirvaad Atta with multigrains. It indeed is one of the blessings true to its name. I have recently switched over to its all the more nutritious variant Multigrain Atta for I have witnessed my mom adding a lot of other essential grains flour to her wheat flour to enhance its nutritive value several fold and that’s what Aashirvaad atta with multigrain is. A power packed flour of six grains weaving together the goodness of the vitamins, micronutrients and minerals of all of them into one. Also in the current scenario, it’s usage becomes all the more relevant for our picky eater kiddos who need a rich diet to build their health and immunity and this precisely is my near year resolution too for myself and my family to give them a gift of a good health the Aashirvaad way.

My faith on them is extensively researched  and I am proud of the fact they source their grains from 6500 exclusive centres and their flour passes more than 410 qualitative tests twice a year to serve nothing less than the best on their customer’s plate. I wish there were more authentic food items available like there’s, to relieve our pressure a bit and impart good health to our families forever!

While I vouch for them, I can safely recommend it to all the readers of Truly Yours Roma....this festive season, as you ring the merry bells of Christmas and new year, gift yourself and your family a gift of sound health and perfect nutrition the Aashirvaad Way.

Well, if you have been wondering from where do I derive the charismatic zeal to transform things for good with a Mida’s touch, it is the best by-product I had been gifted by my second passion - Roma’s Communication Academy(RCA). My students love me to the core and soak my heart in immense joy. I feel like giving them the knowledge of the complete world to the best of my abilities and thus I innovate more fun and fun modules for them. The fact that they perform far better when they are having fun and are immensely happy has motivated me to even make TYR a happier place for my esteemed readers and friends.

Also because going forward I have envisioned integration of TYR with RCA for Roma’s Communication Academy would eventually venture into online grooming as well and the first ones to benefit should undoubtedly be you all. I shall be sharing details of the courses in due course of time as I work day in and day out to customise the modules to suit the online needs so that the best results can be obtained. Once the effectiveness and efficiency goals are set we will roll out the deets.
